Brake Controller Installation on 2003 Freightliner Sprinter
Question:
I have a 2002 Freightliner Sprinter 158inch wb with step bumper. The Freightliner is common to Dodge Sprinter. Id like to add a hitch and 7-pin wiring with brake controller. I see your 119179KIT kit that gets me to a flat 4, and ETBC7 that goes from 4 wire to 7 wire. Is there a circuit protected kit that gets me the 7 pin connection directly? Thanks!

To install the 7-way and brake controller, you'll need to install the # C59496 and the # ETBC7 brake controller install kit as you mentioned. There isn't a plug and play aftermarket option, I'm sorry to say.
The good news is that the # C59496 does offer circuit protection to isolate the vehicle's wiring from any short circuits that could occur in the trailer wiring. The installation may look involved, it it's pretty simple if you're fairly handy and have a rudimentary knowledge of vehicle wiring.
For a brake controller, you can't go wrong with the Tekosha Prodigy P2, part # 90885. The Prodigy P2 is one of our best sellers that's very highly rated by our customers.
I'll link you to the instructions for the ETBC7 kit, as well as to an installation video and some helpful FAQ articles.
