To install the Draw-Tite Trailer Hitch Receiver # 24747 you were looking at on to your 2006 Ford Mustang you will just need to enlarge the hole in the passenger side exhaust hanger. This makes it so that the hanger can be reinstalled after the hitch is in place. There is no drilling required in the actual frame of the vehicle.

The T-1 receives the signals from its attachment behind the tail lights, but the voltage to power the trailer lighting is sourced directly from the battery. This is done to protect the circuitry in the vehicle wiring system. At this time we do not have a photo available of the Curt Hitch, # C11210, on a 2011 Mustang GT, but we do have a photo, see attached, of the hitch on a Shelby Convertible that should give you an idea of the look. The receiver portion of the hitch will be visible when installed. The rear fascia will conceal everything except the receiver.

You will need to use stabilizing straps when you are using the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # C11312 to carry a bike rack or cargo carrier on your 2009 Ford Mustang. This is required by Curt as an extra safety precaution and is needed to maintain their warranty.

That is exactly what converter # 118158 was designed for. You will not have to use diodes, although you could if you wanted and it wouldn't hurt anything, because there is only one input circuit for each of the wires. If you are trying to install lights like # STL8RB to your 2006 Ford Mustang the problem could be that the car has separate turn signal and brake lights while trailer lights have a combined turn signal and brake light circuit.
On light # STL8RB, the white wire is ground, the green wire is stop and turn lights, and the brown wire is running lights.

In some applications there will have to be some modifications to get the exhaust hangers to work. Since you have a different style hanger you will need to remove them or work around them and install the hangers that come with this kit.
The hanger bracket should have holes it that will allow you to attach it to the body or frame of your vehicle. If not, then you could drill holes through the brackets or have them welded in.
