The installation instructions for the AirLift kit # AL60776 can be a little confusing. But after reviewing them on a 2005 Chevy Malibu you will not do anything with the jounce bumper. Just leave it in place. Do not remove the bumper because that can cause fit and performance issues. view full answer...
The wiring kit # C59496 you are installing your 2011 Chevy Malibu LTZ can work with 2 or 3 wire systems. Your Malibu is a 2-wire system, as there is one bulb inside each tail light housing that illuminates for both the brake and turn signal functions. Because it's a 2 wire system, you'll want to ground BOTH the white and the Red wire when installing the # C59496. view full answer...
The Curt Class II Receiver Hitch, part # 12027 bolts to the vehicle in 5 places. Once four of the bolts are in place, the hitch is used as a template to locate and drill the hole for the fifth bolt. No modifications to the bumper or frame are required, other than drilling the one hole to accept the 1/2 inch carriage bolts. A fish wire is provided to run the carriage bolts and block spacers into the vehicle frame.

On your 2016 Chevy Malibu the fascia will need to be pulled off once all the fasteners are removed because it is still sort of compression fit in with the adjoining body panels. Once removed what you will see is some of the skeletal parts of the vehicle. Specifically you will be working in the area of the steel bumper beam at the rear of the vehicle. The instructions which I have linked for you have some good pictures.
Since you will be doing some towing the recommended ball mount is #... view full answer...
To get the install hardware into the frame rails of your 2002 Chevy Malibu to install the Curt hitch part # C12027 will require using the fishwire method. This basically requires feeding the wire through the access points of the frame so that you can attach bolts to the fishwire and then pull the bolts into place.
I attached a couple helpful links that demonstrate the process for you to check out as well. view full answer...
Since you are planning on installing these Trailer D-Rings # RR06 in a plywood floor I would recommend you also get the Backing Plate # BP06 to offer better support than just the wood of your trailer floor.
As far as the placement of them in your trailer, you will need to consider what vehicles you will be transporting. If it will be only one vehicle I would recommend loading that car in the trailer and then strategically place the D-rings to give you the best possible mounting points... view full answer...
Typically the power wire for a wiring harness like the T-Connector # C56387 that you are installing on your 2018 Chevrolet Malibu is routed outside and under the vehicle. If you can locate a grommet like part # A11GB at the rear of your vehicle you can then route the wire outside without drilling through your Malibu. Be sure to seal it back up with a gasket maker like part # LT37467.
Once outside we usually try to route the wire through the frame as that will keep it protected pretty well.... view full answer...
According to my contact at Curt the battery in the trunk of your 2014 Chevy Malibu is for running the hybrid portion of the vehicle and should not have any circuits attached to it, whereas the battery under the hood of vehicle is charged by the alternator which would work well.
I attached an install video for this harness for you to check out as well. view full answer...
There is no one certain way the power wire from Curt trailer wiring harness # C56176 has to be run on your 2013 Chevy Malibu LT. Instead there are a few possible options and you can decide what is going to work best for you. I have included a link to a help article I wrote that explains the methods.
Running the wire through the interior of the vehicle might be the best option since the harness sits in the trunk on your Malibu. You cannot use the small battery in the trunk area, if equipped,... view full answer...
The frame is hollow so there is nothing for self-tapping hardware to grip. Also, frame steel is generally very strong and can even require a special drill bit (rotabroach) so self-tapping hardware would have an even harder time installing. I have linked the installation instructions.
If you plan on doing some towing then the correct ball mount is # C45522. For a 1-7/8 inch ball use # 19256 and for a 2 inch use # 19258. For trailer wiring use # 118450. Then you would also need a Pin and... view full answer...
For tow bar wiring you basically have three options to choose from.
You can use the magnetic lights like you are familiar with, like a RoadMaster Standard Magnetic Tow Lights, part # RM2120.
You can use a diode kit like the Tail Light Isolating Diode System, part # 38955, that you referenced. If you are looking for the highest quality diode kit on your 2011 Chevy Malibu you would want the Roadmaster Universal Hy-Power Diode Wiring Kit, part # RM-154.
Or you can use a bulb light kit like... view full answer...
To install the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver, part # 12051, on your 2011 Chevrolet Malibu LT you will need to drill 2 holes that are 17/32 of an inch. There is a template included with part # 12051 so that you drill in the correct spots. All of the hitches available for the 2011 Malibu require drilling to install.
A drawbar, pin and clip come included with part # 12051. To complete your towing setup, you may be interested in the following:

According to the installation instructions, the hole in the end panel will not be present on all models of the Malibu. Since it is not present on your vehicle, the hole will need to be drilled as outlined in the installation instructions. According to Curt, the steel you will need to drill through is VERY tough, and you will need high-quality carbide drill bit to get this done.
I have linked you to a copy of the installation instructions. view full answer...
I would not bring a wire back from the taillight to activate the Prodigy. Re-connect the brake pedal connector. By disconnecting them, you may have severed the ground connection and you would not be able to determine which goes active when the pedal is pressed.
Use a circuit tester like part # PTW2993 to pierce the shielding on the brake pedal wires while holding the pedal down. When you find one that is live, release the pedal. If the circuit tester indicates that the wire no longer has... view full answer...

Yes, the ICX Transmitter that comes with the Roadmaster Even Brake Portable Supplemental Braking System # RM-9400 is essentially the brains of the unit and you even plug the breakaway pin to it so the Even Brake will know to apply the brakes if your towed vehicle becomes unhitched.
This is justified further by the need for a new one if you use the Roadmaster Even Brake 2nd Vehicle Kit # RM-98450.

If you just opened the holes a little bit like the installation instructions said to do you should be alright. However, without actually seeing the modifications that you made I can not say for certain.
If you followed the instructions on enlarging the access holes the integrity of the frame on your 2001 Chevy Malibu should be intact and would not be weakened at all, or enough to make a significant difference. view full answer...
Don't worry, I can help! According to Roadmaster the bulb and socket kit will not work for your 2015 Chevrolet Malibu but the universal wiring kit # 154-792-118158 will. It also states that since you have separate wiring that it is recommended to have two additional diodes which this kit includes. While magnetic lights are an option there should be no issue when installing the universal wiring kit to your Malibu.

The Michelin RainForce Windshield Wiper Blade # MCH3721 that you referenced is a correct fit for the passenger side of your 2012 Chevrolet Malibu. The driver-side wiper blade is part # MCH3724.
Both blades come complete with the necessary plastic adapter (already installed) to allow mounting on most wiper arm styles.
Based on my research your Malibu uses a standard J-style metal wiper arm. This J-shaped hook will directly attach to the pre-installed plastic adapter without any additional... view full answer...
