Recommended Trailer Wiring Kit for a 2011 Chevy Malibu LTZ

Question:

Installing C59496 on 2011 Chevrolet Malibu LTZ. How can I tell whether it is a 2 or 3 wire system? There are 4 wires going into each tail light assembly on the car. The running light, right, and left turn wires are obvious.

The wiring kit # C59496 you are installing your 2011 Chevy Malibu LTZ can work with 2 or 3 wire systems. Your Malibu is a 2-wire system, as there is one bulb inside each tail light housing that illuminates for both the brake and turn signal functions. Because it's a 2 wire system, you'll want to ground BOTH the white and the Red wire when installing the # C59496.
