When installed, the Curt # C11317 receiver tube would sit right under the bottom edge of the rear bumper fascia. It would not use the cutout in the bumper cover.
We do offer a hitch that would install in that manner, though. The EcoHitch # 306-X7279 would indeed install so that the receiver would fit through the cutout you describe. The hitch also includes a magnetic cover that would conceal the receiver opening when the hitch isn't being used.
For a trailer wiring harness, you'll want... view full answer...
We do indeed offer the EcoHitch X7212, which we offer as part # EH22RR which is compatible with the 5 door wagon Impreza models with a single exhaust and the knockout panel on the rear bumper face.
If you'll be using the hitch for light duty towing, you'll also need a trailer wiring harness like # 118573, a ball mount like # 3592 and # 19256 for a 1-7/8 or # 19258 for a 2 inch trailer ball. view full answer...
According to my research you can safely tow a 1,460 lb trailer with your 2015 Subaru Impreza as long as that trailer has brakes that you're able to activate. I recommend checking to verify this in your copy of the owner's manual or with your local Subaru dealer prior to towing though.
It's kind of a toss-up on whether or not a trailer that light will have brakes so I recommend checking on that first, and then installing the following parts if you don't already have wiring and a brake controller... view full answer...

We do have a 2" trailer hitch for your 2017 Subaru Impreza Hatchback.
The EcoHitch Hidden Trailer Hitch Receiver # 306-X7350 is a Class III hitch with a 2" receiver just like what you are looking for. One of the best features of the EcoHitch brand is their commitment to designing hitches where the receiver opening and safety chain loops are the only things visible. It will give you a nice, clean look on your Impreza.
This will work great with a Thule bike rack that fits a 2" receiver... view full answer...
For your 2009 Subaru Impreza you will need to use a 1-1/4 inch hitch receiver as there have been no 2 inch options manufactured. For a 2 inch hitch receiver you would have to get it custom made.
From the options that we have to choose from, your hitch receiver will depend on your model. Part # DT24959 will fit a 5-door wagon with single exhaust, part # C11317 will fit a sedan. Neither option is a confirmed fit for a WRX STi though.
You can use a hitch expander, like the Brophy # HTAD,... view full answer...
Once you've installed the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # C11286 on your 2012 Subaru Impreza you can add a ball mount and hitch ball to tow a trailer. Before you select a ball mount you'll want to make sure you know the rise or drop you'll need with your trailer. I've linked an article to help you determine what you need.
I've also linked our selection of Class I ball mounts for you to look at once you know what you need.
Then you'll need a hitch ball. Your trailer's coupler probably... view full answer...
The Class II ball mount we carry that's closest to the 7 inch rise you need is part # C45014. However, it only offers 5 inches of rise.
I've also attached our article on determining the amount of rise you need. You want to measure from the ground to the top of inside of your hitch receiver on your Subaru. Then compare that measurement with the distance from the ground to the underside of your trailer's coupler. The difference is the amount of rise you need. Just make sure both are... view full answer...
When it comes to installing a trailer hitch on your 2005 Subaru Impreza I recommend The Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # C11497. This hitch will have a similar installation process as the 2007 Subaru Impreza. The hitch has a gross towing weight up to 2,000 pounds and has a gross tongue weight up to 200 pounds. The Curt hitch has a concealed cross tube and has a sleeker cleaner look then other hitches after installation.
I would also recommend The 4-Pole Trailer Connector and Installation... view full answer...
I have a roof rack solution for you. Unfortunately, I confirmed with Malone that there is no foot pack available to attach the Malone AirFlow2 # MPG216 to your fixed mounting points on your 2018 Subaru Impreza. This is because the AirFlow2 can only attach to raised factory rails.
However, we do have an option that is engineered to fit your fixed mounting points:
- Thule SquareBar Evo Crossbars - Steel - 47" # TH712200
- Rapid Podium Feet for Thule Crossbars - Fixed Point # TH460R

Yes, the RoadMaster XL kit, part # 909-1, will fit your 1993 Subaru Impreza. There are two methods for setting up lights on a towed vehicle. You can use temporary kits, usually magnetic, that will add a light fixture to the car. These kits are favored by those that do not want to do the wiring otherwise involved. Custer Magnetic Tow Light Kit, part # RM-2120 is our best selling magnetic kit. I have added a link to all of them below.

I'm seeing conflicting information regarding towing with a 2008 Subaru Impreza. Online searches seem to agree that the 2008 Impreza can tow 1200kg, or about 2600 lbs if the trailer has brakes.
The owner's manual bluntly states that the car isn't intended to be used as a towing vehicle and lists no capacity. I'd recommend checking with a Subaru dealer for clarification. My suspicion is that the the 1200kg towing capacity I found refers to vehicles outside the US. This wouldn't be the first... view full answer...
The Thule Hull-A-Port Aero Kayak Roof Rack w/ Tie-Downs # TH849000 is a model specifically designed to mount into T-Slot channels on crossbars so since your OEM 2020 Subaru Impreza crossbars don't have this your only option is to install aftermarket crossbars that do have the T-Slots, and for that I recommend the Malone roof rack:
- Malone AirFlow2 Roof Rack # MPG215
This is a cost-effective solution to your problem which is why I recommend it. This system is a bit more clunky than you'll... view full answer...
The wiring kits used for flat towing are designed to receive signals while the wiring for trailer towing is designed for sending signals. For your 2008 Subaru Impreza I recommend using the Tow Ready Tail Light Isolating Diode System # TR118821 for your flat tow wiring and then the Curt # C56111 is you have a 5-Door Wagon or the Curt # 56061 if you have a Sedan for your trailer wiring.
The Tow Ready wiring will splice into your OEM wiring while the Curt options tee in behind your tail lights... view full answer...

As long as your 2014 Subaru Impreza isn't a WRX or WRX STi model (and it sounds like it isn't), the Curt
# C11286 is the correct fit. If you DO have the WRX or WRX STi, you'd then need the # C11120.
If you'll be doing some light duty towing, you'll also need the # 118573 for the non-WRX models or # 119250KIT for the WRX and WRX STi. You'll also need the # C45521 ball mount, the # PC2 hitch pin and for a trailer ball, part # A-80 for a 1-7/8 ball or # A-82 for a 2 inch ball. view full answer...

We do offer three cargo carriers that will fit a Class I hitch:

For locks to ensure that your Thule Hullavator # TH898 is secure on your vehicle, you will need the Thule One-Key System Lock Cylinders # TH450200. This kit comes with 2 lock cylinders, 2 keys, and a universal master key that is used if you ever need to change out your cylinders.
Also, depending on what year Subaru Impreza you have, there also may be an option for you to add Thule same-key lock cylinders to your SquareBars as well. Feel free to respond to this answer with your vehicle... view full answer...
There is an adapter to go from Roadmaster base plates to Blue Ox tow bars. However, you will have to use the XL style base plates # 919-1. Then you can use adapter # BX88178.
You said you bought the tow bar used, if it did not include the safety cables then you will need to add some using # BX88196.
You will also need a lighting solution when flat towing the vehicle. If you will not be towing it very often then I recommend a magnetic kit # RM-2120. But if you want a more permanent solution... view full answer...
