According to my research you can safely tow a 1,460 lb trailer with your 2015 Subaru Impreza as long as that trailer has brakes that you're able to activate. I recommend checking to verify this in your copy of the owner's manual or with your local Subaru dealer prior to towing though.
It's kind of a toss-up on whether or not a trailer that light will have brakes so I recommend checking on that first, and then installing the following parts if you don't already have wiring and a brake controller on your Impreza:
- 4-Way Wiring # 118581 for a Sedan or # 118573 for a 5-Door Wagon
- Universal Wiring Kit # ETBC7
- Redarc Tow-Pro Liberty # RED24FR
- Redarc Controller Pigtail # RED69FR
I really like the Liberty brake controller because it installs out of the way but is still easy to use and provides the industry standard proportional-style braking.
