Are Extended Exhaust Hangers Needed to Install a Trailer Hitch on a 2005 Subaru Impreza
Question:
What size exhaust hanger will be needed to properly attach the exhaust after installing the hitch?

You should not have to replace any of the exhaust hangers on your 2005 Subaru Impreza to install Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Class I - 1-1/4" # C11497. But if you feel that you need to you will need to wait and see how much space there is, or isn't, available to get the right length hangers. I have included a link to the installation instructions for you to view.
If you plan on doing some towing you will need ball mount # 3593. For a 1-7/8 inch ball use # 19256 and for a 2 inch ball use # 19258. For trailer wiring use # C59236.
