Thank you for your business and recommendations over the years!
As of June of 2023, we do not offer any 2" hitch for your Element SC.
What you propose doing is theoretically possible, but keep in mind that if you fabricate a 2 inch hitch from your existing Class I like the Curt # C11699, the result will have a unknown weight capacity. At best case, due to the way it attaches to the vehicle you'll be limited to the capacity of the Class I hitch which is typically 2000 lbs towing/200 lbs... view full answer...
For the 2006 Honda Element, etrailer doesn't have sub-model specific information about if fascia needed trimming to install their # e78KR Class III hitch. The install directions state that for all models, some drilling will be required but no fascia trimming. The hitch sits below the bumper.
If you have the squared-off bumper that doesn't slant downward under the vehicle, then it could be possible that some trimming would be needed, but our directions say no trimming needed. Unfortunately,... view full answer...
The etrailer Trailer Hitch Receiver # e78KR you mentioned is confirmed to fit your 2008 Honda Element EX and will be perfect for replacing your class I trailer hitch receiver.
As you mentioned the # e78KR is a Class III hitch with a 2" receiver that is great due to it having the most available accessories such as bike racks, cargo carriers, and ball mounts for towing a trailer.
The etrailer and Curt hitches are both equally built with no clear advantage going to one or the other. It more... view full answer...
The Thule OutWay trunk mount bike rack # TH45JV, will fit nicely on your 2010 Honda Element. This bike rack uses 4 retractable cables to secure the rack to the vehicle so it installs very quickly.
To carry women's, children's, or alternative frame bikes you will need an adapter like you have said, # TH982XT for greater ground clearance and to carry the bikes more level. I have included a link to a video that shows how the adapter works.
I researched the Specialized Ariel bikes and the... view full answer...
Yes, you will need to remove the Thule OutWay 2 Bike Rack # TH45JV from the trunk of your 2011 Honda Element before opening up the tailgate and upper door. This is the same case for all trunk mount bike racks on any vehicle.
If you are wanting to have unrestricted access to the rear hatch area of your Honda Element without removing your bikes or bike rack then you can install a trailer hitch and use a swing-away bike rack.
For this application I recommend the etrailer # e78KR which may... view full answer...
What happened to you with the hitch that had the stopper is actually a pretty common occurrence. That stopper is in the hitch tubes of Class I hitches to prevent the use of heavier Class II accessories. Reason being that Class I hitches are lighter duty. The etrailer trailer hitch part # e78KR does not have a stopper so it would work well for you as long as your bike rack is designed for a 2 inch trailer hitch.
This would work great with the Yakima HoldUp EVO part # Y02479 that you referenced... view full answer...
When the Yakima SlimShady Awning part # Y36VR is folded up it only takes up about 4-1/2 inches of bar space that would leave you with right at 39-1/2 inches of available bar space for a basket. You could easily then fit the Yakima LoadWarrior part # Y07070 with the Yakima Spare Carrier # Y07076. This is 44 inches wide but a good portion of it can hang over the bars since the mounting brackets of the basket aren't on the very outsides of the basket. view full answer...
The correct etrailer tow bar for your 2005 Honda Element with the Blue Ox Base Plate Kit # BX2232 is part # e47ZR. The part # e74ZR you were looking at comes with adapters to fit with the Roadmaster Direct-Connect base plates.
These 2 tow bars are literally the same tow bar just with different adapters at the end.
Attached are some videos for you to check out.
For a complete flat towing setup you will need a base plate kit, tow bar, safety cables, vehicle tow bar wiring, a supplemental... view full answer...
None of the hitches we offer would have enough weight capacity for a tongue weight of 450 lbs. Highest we have is the etrailer part # e78KR which has tongue weight capacity of 350 lbs. Even still you'd be limited by the capacity of the vehicle which will be 150 lbs like you mentioned.
You'd have to look into a small trailer.
We've found that people will disregard capacities and warnings to do whatever it is that they want while putting other motorists at risk. Some get away with it without... view full answer...
We actually don't carry any flat tow wiring for your 2008 Honda Element that plugs directly into the vehicle's wiring. We used to but it's been discontinued.
What is in the instructions for the base plates is just the connector that would be at the front of the vehicle and for that you can use # DM9523004. You would need to cut off the 4-Way end from kit # TM783101 and attach the wires to the back of one of the connectors in this kit. White is ground, brown is running lights, yellow is... view full answer...
Yes! To replace the hardware for your Curt trailer hitch # 13574 you will need # RHK. On the RHK page enter the hitch number and select the manufacturer. This will ensure that we assemble the right hardware for your hitch! view full answer...
The only hitch that we have for your 2010 Honda Element SC is a light-duty Class I hitch with a 1-1/4-inch receiver opening we offer the Curt # C11699 which is intended for the SC with a single exhaust. The 2" versions will not work on your SC.
All three options can be seen on the link at right, along with the installation instructions. All hitches install without drilling and all include the required hardware. I have also linked an installation video that shows you the process of installingthis... view full answer...
Yes the Hollywood Racks # HRE3 is confirmed as a fit for your 2007 Honda Element.
This bike rack attached to your vehicle using 6 adjustable cam buckle straps, and is equipped with sturdy cradles with soft rubber straps. It also has interlocking adjustment hubs with hand knobs to ensure a proper fit to the contour of your trunk.
Please note that with this bike rack and all trunk mounted bike racks you should not open the trunk/hatch with the bike rack loaded. Also the rear wiper is... view full answer...

Adding a roof rack mounted basket like # Y07070, with MightyMounts, # Y03590, will still have your load off center because the basket will be centered above the cross bars, though there is some room for adjustment. I would check to see if the factory cross bars on your 2004 Honda Element are adjustable. They may be able to be moved rearward. This may be the case, as the pictures I have seen of the 2004 (with a roof rack) show the rack more towards the middle (the front rail just forward... view full answer...
To mount a bike rack on the rear of your Element, there are two alternatives, a hitch mounted option or a trunk mounted option.
The hitch mounted option would require that a hitch like the etrailer Class III receiver, part # e78KR be installed. The hitch would then serve as the attachment point for the bike rack, and could also be used with a cargo carrier or to tow a small trailer in the future, if the need should arise. Although going this route would be initially more expensive due... view full answer...
Yakima does make a square crossbar system for your bare roof 2005 Honda Element. I recommend the following parts:
-Yakima HD Crossbars - Aluminum - Black - 60" Long # Y01157
-Towers # Y53TR
-Adapters # Y03541
-Landing Pads # Y00229
As far as adding more racks to the setup, the only way to do it would be by attaching something like the SeaSucker Monkey Bars Roof Rack - Round Bars - Vacuum Cup Mount - 48" Long # 298-SX6000B to your roof as long as there is enough space either between,... view full answer...
