Roof Mounted Cargo Basket Recommendation for a 2004 Honda Element with Factory Cross Bars

Question:

I own a 2004 Honda Element and I would like to carry the long board on the roof. The factory roof rack is towards the front of the vehicle, but I want the board to sit evenly center on the roof. I was think about a roof basket to solve this .What do you recommend?

Adding a roof rack mounted basket like # Y07070, with MightyMounts, # Y03590, will still have your load off center because the basket will be centered above the cross bars, though there is some room for adjustment. I would check to see if the factory cross bars on your 2004 Honda Element are adjustable. They may be able to be moved rearward. This may be the case, as the pictures I have seen of the 2004 (with a roof rack) show the rack more towards the middle (the front rail just forward of the rear half door).
