I prefer the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # C38JR over the Draw-Tite Max-Frame Trailer Hitch Receiver # DT79GR for your 2023 Volkswagen Taos. The Curt is made in the USA while the Draw-Tite is manufactured overseas. Both receivers have a similar design with hidden cross tubes and 2" receivers with a gloss black powder coat finish.
The Upgraded Heavy Duty ModuLite Circuit Protected Vehicle Wiring Harness # C59496 will allow you to install w 4-way flat trailer connector. This is the size... view full answer...
The main difference between the EcoHitch Class 2 Trailer Hitch Receiver # 306-X7333 and the EcoHitch Hidden Trailer Hitch Receiver # 306-X7332 is the receiver tube size. The EcoHitch # 306-X7332 has a 2" receiver tube and an extra 100 pounds of tongue weight compared to the of 1 1/4" on the #306-X7333. The 2" receivers have the widest variety of accessories, that's why I would highly recommend the EcoHitch # 306-X7332. The extra 100 pounds of tongue weight is an added bonus.

The biggest benefit with using the EcoHitch Hidden Trailer Hitch Receiver # 306-X7315 over the Draw-Tite Sportframe Trailer Hitch Receiver # 24949 or the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # C11422 is the receiver tube size. The EcoHitch has a 2" receiver tube rather than an 1 1/4", that opens up a lot of options for accessories to mount.
Although the weight ratings and the installation process is the same for all three hitches 200 lbs TW and 2000 lbs GTW, if you already own 2" accessories like... view full answer...
If you are concerned with clearance between the bike rack and vehicle, the Hollywood Racks Trail Rider part # HR200Z would be the one you want to look at. This rack provides at least 11" from the center of the hitch pin hole to the closest edge of wheel hoop.
If you would like to add locks to either of the above bike racks then you can do so using the Anti-Rattle Hitch Lock and Cable Lock part # HRLHPTC which locks both the bike rack and bikes. I have attached a review video one each... view full answer...
You are correct that the main difference between the Draw-Tite # 24978 and Curt # C11540 trailer hitches for your 2021 Volkswagen Jetta has to do with the design. The Draw-Tite has a hidden crosstube so it will look much cleaner on your Jetta while the Curt will be easier to install but the crosstube will be visible which won't look as clean plus it will reduce your ground clearance some.
Because of all of this I recommend going with the Draw-Tite over the Curt. Even if you have to have... view full answer...
The Yakima FullSwing 4 Bike Rack part # Y02465 and Thule Apex Swing XT Bike Rack part # TH9027XT are both equally as easy to install since they both feature an integrated hitch pin with tool free installation. Simply insert the shank into the receiver tube, align the integrated hitch pin, then turn the knob to tighten and lock in place.
I recommend the Thule Apex since it's physically lighter and the arms are longer so you'll have more spacing between the bikes. view full answer...
Both the Curt # C56175 and # C59236 will add a 4-way trailer connector to your 2006 Volkswagen Golf. The main difference between these products is that the # C59236 is a powered tail light converter, which means it gets wired to your vehicle's battery instead of only receiving power from your vehicle's tail light circuit. Basically, what this does is limit the power drawn from the tail light wiring to isolate your vehicle wiring from your trailer wiring. In case there is an overdraw situation,... view full answer...
The 2" EcoHitch # 306-X7284 for your 2014 VW Jetta SportWagen Diesel takes much longer to install than the 1-1/4" Draw-Tite # 24880 for your 2017 VW Passat 1.08T SE. From what I could find it looks like the Passat tends to have a hitch receiver that sits 3/4" higher on average than the SportWagen so if that's a determining factor then I'd say go with the Passat. We haven't installed a hitch on the 2017 Passat yet so I'm just basing this comparison off of similar model years that we installed... view full answer...
If you are trying to choose between the Saris Freedom 4 Bike Platform Rack # SA4414B and the Hollywood Racks Destination Bike Rack for 4 Bikes # HR4000 for your 2019 Vokswagen Atlas, I recommend the Saris Freedom 4 if you are planning to transport heavier bikes. With the Freedom 4, the front 2 positions of the rack have a per-bike capacity of 60 pounds, which is beneficial for bikes that might outweigh the 35 pound per-bike weight capacity of the Destination. If you want extra rack security... view full answer...
For your 2019 VW Golf we do have several options in an aero-style roof rack which include products from Rhino-Rack and Yakima. All appear on the linked page.
My top recommendation is the Rhino-Rack Vortex Aero Roof Rack. The Vortex system is made of parts # RRVA126B-2, # RRRLKVA and # DK390. You can see it installed on a Golf by clicking on the linked video.
The Vortex rack features sleek 49-inch black crossbars that have much more of an OEM appearance than many other aftermarket rack... view full answer...

There are a number of quiet electric A-frame trailer jacks, although the Stromberg Carlson Electric Trailer Jack # JET-5000 you asked about would not be on the list. That said, you were right on the money with the Bulldog, because their Bulldog Powered Drive Trailer Jack - 22" Lift - 4,000 lbs # BD500199 (Black) or # BD500200 (White) has a powered drive which is going to reduce noise.
The other quietest A-frame trailer jack is from Stromberg Carlson, the Stromberg Carlson Electric Trailer... view full answer...
The primary difference between the EcoHitch # 306-X7332 and EcoHitch # 306-X7333 is that the EcoHitch # 306-X7333 only has a 1-1/4" receiver, where the EcoHitch # 306-X7332 has a 2" receiver. When available, I generally find it more beneficial for customers to go with a 2" hitch when they are available for their vehicle and within their price range. Both of these hitches mount behind the bumper and provide a concealed cross tube design that will leave only the receiver visible, so the installation... view full answer...
We do have the parts you need for your 2011 Volkswagen Jetta TDI Sedan, however there is no longer a Draw-Tite hitch receiver to fit.
I recommend the Curt, part # C11474, that is confirmed to fit.
The recommended ball mount with the hitch is part # 3593 which includes a pin and clip. For a hitch ball use either # 19258 for a 2 inch ball or # 19256 for a 1-7/8 inch. view full answer...

In a light-duty towing application like yours, to be perfectly honest, if it were my money I would choose the lowest cost hitch for whichever car you choose to equip with a hitch. All have identical capacities.
For the 2014 VW Jetta Sportwagen TDI we have the 2-inch EcoHitch Hidden Trailer Hitch 306-X7284 which does install at the bumper mounts. This hitch is shown on the linked page.
This EcoHitch installs without drilling, but it is a challenging installation. I linked an install video... view full answer...
The difference between the Curt # C24ER and the Draw-Tite # 36635 is pretty severe. The Curt is rated up to 6,000 pounds towing with a 900 pound tongue weight, whereas the Draw-Tite is rated up to 3,500 pounds towing with a 350 pound tongue weight
They will both most likely need to have an access hole enlarged a little to get the carriage bolts and spacers to fit inside the frame, but the Curt will require some trimming of the underbody fascia as well. The Draw-Tite does not require this... view full answer...

The Camco RV Power Defender Circuit Analyzer part # CAM55313 and Camco RV Power Defender Voltage Protector part # CAM55306 are similar in that they both work to protect the trailer from power surges and have diagnostic lights to help with troubleshooting. However, the Voltage Protector goes a bit beyond this as the voltage detection system is much more sophisticated sensing both high and low voltages in addition to surges. The Circuit Analyzer can only detects power surges, not high and... view full answer...
