Great question. The base dry hitch weighing 900 lbs is a factor, but you will most definitely want the Curt TruTrack Weight Distribution System w/ Sway Control # C17501 for this application. The reasoning is that you need to account for loaded weight on the tongue of your hitch which will not only include the loaded cargo of your trailer, but it also accounts for any weight behind the rear axle of your towing vehicle.

We have not yet installed the Adjustable Width Trailer Hitch Receiver part # 13703 on a 2014 Heartland Big Country but so long as the frame rails are spaced between 22" and 72" apart which they should then this hitch will work for you. It is very universal and there are few trailers it will not work on. It can either be bolted or welded to the frame rails. I do have an option but the only way to confirm fit of the SolidStep Manual Fold-Down Steps like part # LC698799 on a trailer with a step-up directly behind the door would be to test fit. I don't think fit would be able to be accurately determined beforehand by measuring. There is a bracket which positions the bulk of the step up from the door sill but it could still not be enough to overcome the step-up.

The Westlake 215/75R17.5 Radial Tire w 17-1/2" Lynx Aluminum Wheel - LR J # LHAS701 has an 8 on 6-1/2" bolt pattern so as long as the existing wheels share this same pattern (they do) and you have space for the new size (30.2" diameter x 8.3" wide) then they will fit without issue. If the upper shock mounts on your Jayco Designer 5th wheel are just bolted on then you can install the Dexter Over-Under Kit # K71-385-00 you were looking at and just relocate the upper bracket to a location where you have shock compressed half way when it is sitting under its own weight, and at an angle that matches the original positioning.

After speaking with out expert install team I would NOT recommend patching or replacing only part of the membrane. It will just set you up for future leaks and other problems where the seam will be. Since you will have to remove the trim around the unit to fix it anyway, it would be wise to just replace all of it.

If your Reese M5 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch, # RP30928 is not staying in the open, there could be something blocking the internals of your hitch. Usually this means there is some dirt and grime that got mixed up with the grease used to lubricate the mechanism.
