How To Carry Two Bikes On The Back of a 5th Wheel Trailer
Question:
We have a 2017 Forest River 35foot Cardinal 5th wheel. We are purchasing an Electra Path Towie and a Trek Dual Sport 2 bike. What trailer hitch has been tested and approved for use with the Swagman Escapee bike rack? Thank you,

For a trailer hitch that will fit your 2017 Forest River Cardinal 5th Wheel Trailer and will work with the Kuat Transfer V2 Bike Rack for 2 Bikes # KU84FR, I recommend using the Trailer Hitch Receiver for RVs part # 13703. This trailer hitch is the most popular we have for you by far because it fits so many different Rvs and it is very easy to install compared to some of the others. It has a 350 lb tongue weight capacity which will be plenty for your Transfer V2 and Electra Path Townie/Trek Dual Sport 2 bikes. The 2" receiver tube opening is also exactly what you need for the Transfer V2. I cannot say that the two have been specifically tested with one another as this is just not something that bike rack or trailer hitch manufacturers perform but I can assure you they will work together just fine.
Please note that the Kuat Transfer V2 # KU84FR is a wheel mount bike rack that should not be used with a bike that has fenders. If your Electra Path Townie does have fenders, then you will want to use the Swagman Dispatch 2 Bike Platform Rack part # S44FR for a frame-mount alternative, or the Lets Go Aero V-Lectric FAT PRO # LGA77FR for another wheel-mount that will work with fenders, instead. These bike racks both come with locks so you will be ready to hit the road once you have them installed.
I have attached a sample install video of the trailer hitch for you as well.
