If I understand correctly, the trailer that the camper is in is just he bed part of a 1998 Ford F-150. The best and safest option would be the Torklift custom fit tie downs. However, because this is not a normal application I cannot confirm that any of them will fit.
That leaves the Brophy tie downs # TDSF which are designed to fit domestic pickup trucks up to 2010 model years so your 1998 Ford F-150 bed does fall into that category. I also recommend the tie down hardware package # TDHP. view full answer...
The Stromberg Tailgate part # VG-97-4000 is a fit for your 1997 Ford F-150 as well as the part # VG-97-100 that you referenced. Both fit the flare side trucks too. view full answer...
Yes, the Replacement Hardware Kit # 40-024PK that you referenced is designed to fit the correct Westin Grille Guard for your 1999 Ford F-150, part # 45-0240. view full answer...
Since water and hay can weigh quite a bit I would recommend a hitch with a higher towing capacity for your 1999 Ford F-150 like the Curt Class V part # C15303 which has the highest towing capacity of the hitches we offer for your truck. view full answer...
The Curt hitch # 31049 for your 1997 Ford F-150 cannot be mounted upside down. It is designed to be that high for winch mounting and a more hidden look with greater ground clearance.
Based on your need to have the hitch lower for your snowplow, I recommend the Draw-Tite Front Mount Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - 2" # 65025 which is a confirmed fit for your F-150 4WD. Based on customer measurements, this hitch will be about 14 inches from the ground.
I also recommend using the... view full answer...
For your 1998 Ford F-150 the best solution for an inexpensive fifth wheel rail kit would be the part # RP30035 which is a confirmed fit and would work well.
A custom install kit like part # RP50042-58 is another option to consider but it costs more. It will cut install time by about 50 percent and will minimize drilling too. view full answer...
With your 1999 Ford F-150, you are right at the max weight for a 5th wheel trailer with your truck. If you plan on taking it into the mountains, I recommend adding a transmission cooler like the Derale Series 8000 Plate-Fin Transmission Cooler Kit w/Barb Inlets - Class III - Efficient # D13503. This will help your transmission to stay cooler when working so hard. For this installation, I recommend the Derale Radiator Adapter Fittings for Ford, Lincoln and Mercury # D13025 confirmed to... view full answer...
We do have custom base rail kits available for your 1997 Ford F-150.
I recommend the Reese Quick-Install Custom Base Rails and Installation Kit # RP50042-58. This kit includes vehicle specific brackets that will greatly minimize drilling and measuring while cutting the installation time in half when compared to universal systems. This is because they will use existing holes in your truck's frame for the installation. For just the custom brackets and hardware, you can use part # RP50042.

The aux circuit of the # 30717 which is the yellow wire does not have to ran anywhere if the trailer does not need it. Typically this would run to the reverse light circuit if a back up light or reverse lockout solenoid was used. But for nearly all RV applications you don't have to connect that wire. view full answer...
The Strait-Line Weight Distribution with Sway Control, part # RP66072, you referenced would work very well as a weight distribution and sway control system for pulling your 1987 21 foot Sunline Camper with your 1998 Ford F150. I have included a link below to installation instructions and an FAQ page that you might find helpful.
I would strongly recommend you upgrade your transmission cooler also. I would recommend the Derale Transmission Coolers for the 1998 F-150 and F-250 Light Duty... view full answer...
Yes we do carry the install harness part # 3035-P for installing the Prodigy P2 part # 90885 in your 1999 Ford F-150.

Sounds like you have a 4-way connector at the rear of your 1999 Ford F-150 and are looking for a way to install a 6-way so that you can power the camper you have that has a Pollak 6-way like the part # PK11604.
For an adapter you would want the part # A10-6034VP. This will plug into the 4-way and will convert the taillight signal to a 6-way. To activate the power circuit for the camper battery you will need to run the black wire from this adapter to the positive post of the truck battery... view full answer...
Since we do not sell the fuses and relays of the part # 118242 separately our only solution would be for you to get the entire harness from us. A local Ford dealer though would be able to set you up with the replacement parts you'd need though. view full answer...
For towing a trailer like what you mentioned with a 1999 Ford F-150 a supplemental transmission cooler would be a great option that we would highly recommend. Most likely your truck came with a factory cooler but typically they do not do a very good job at all. Especially around the age of your truck. The newer vehicles have better coolers but the older ones are adequate at best for light duty applications.
I'd recommend the part # D13503 as this is a very popular and efficient cooler... view full answer...
I went out to our warehouse and checked out the Erickson Sliding Ratchet Tie-Down Straps w/ Safety Hooks part # EM31425 for you. This set comes with two ratchet straps, not four. In regards to the ratcheting mechanism loosening, this can be an issue with a bouncy load or in your case, a motorcycle.
In order to securely transport a motorcycle I highly recommend using the ShockStrap Ratcheting Tie-Down Straps part # 297-15RSDB which have built-in shock absorbers that are specifically designed... view full answer...
Yes, the Draw Tite Activator IV brake controller part # 5504 will work well in your 1997 Ford F-150.
If you have a factory 7-way at the rear of your truck all you would need to install this controller is the part # 3035-P.
To see how this brake controller would install in your vehicle regardless of what style of trailer connector you have present at the rear of the vehicle check out the link I attached to the right that details this. view full answer...
The Ford Replacement OEM Tow Package Wiring Harness, part # 118242 is exactly what you need to get a 7-way connector at the back of your 98 F-150.
For a brake controller I recommend the Prodigy P2, part # 90885. This is our most popular brake controller because it is easy to install and operate.
To plug this in to the port located under your dash I recommend part # 3035-P. One end simply plugs into the port on the vehicle and the other into the back of the brake controller.

The product you are looking for is the Gen-Y Torsion Weight Distribution Shank part # 325-GH-1302. This shank has built-in shock absorption and will allow you to attach pretty much any weight distribution system head. I really like the Equal-i-zer Weight Distribution System part # EQ37141ET but the correct one will need to be based off the trailer's weight. I have attached below a full list of options.
I would not have any options for using the Gen-Y Pintle Hook Mounting Plate with a weight... view full answer...

The best and most popular brake controller we offer is the Tekonsha Prodigy P2 Trailer Brake Controller, part # 90885. This is a proportional controller and will activate your trailer brakes in proportion to your 1998 Ford F-150 truck's braking action. This system is easy to install and to use.
