Does Yellow Wire of 4-Way to 7-Way Adapter part # 30717 Need to be Connected
Question:
I purchased the product listed. Im installing it onto my Ford F150, 99. I see the functions of the four loose wires. White - ground. Blue - brake controller, which connects to blue on my wire harness. Black - hot lead, which I believe goes to the orange lead on my wire harness. The yellow one says optional aux funtion, which I believe I need because I intend to pull an RV with it, but Im not sure where to connect it. Ive watched your videos, other youtube videos and looked at the FAQs but havent found the answer yet. Can you help?

Expert Reply:
The aux circuit of the # 30717 which is the yellow wire does not have to ran anywhere if the trailer does not need it. Typically this would run to the reverse light circuit if a back up light or reverse lockout solenoid was used. But for nearly all RV applications you don't have to connect that wire.
