Though I am not sure what the connector you are referring to is for, I can assure you that it is not for trailer wiring which means we would not have anything that plugs into it to operate the trailer lights. The Mopar wiring harness includes the power line to the electric brakes. The wiring harness should be hard wired direct to the control module in the engine compartment. The brake wire may be tied off somewhere nearby as it does not get wired to the module.

It looks like on the 2013 Dodge Journey the reverse lights are on the rear hatch and possibly also on the body structure with some of the other lights. If there are reverse lights on the body structure, then you will need to access the taillight wiring and find the wire that goes to the reverse light bulb and tap into it there.

Since hitch adapters like what you have generally aren't rated for RV use and best case scenario cut the tongue weight capacity of the hitch they are installed in by 50 percent I would not recommend the use of a Roadmaster Hitch Mounted Spare Carrier part # RM-195225 with on.

The Prodigy RF brake controller # TK94FR requires 12 volt power and the brake light signals to function in the 7-Way in order to work. On the 7-Way you have there should be a black wire which will be for 12 volt power. Using about 25 feet of wire # 12-1-1 (sold by the foot) attach one end to that black wire, route the wire under the vehicle, avoiding areas that can pinch or burn the wire such as suspension and exhaust components, and up into the engine compartment over near the battery.
