I’ve had this installed on the truck for about a year. Install was fairly straight forward. The wiring wasn’t made very clear in the instructions so I had to look that up. It worked flawlessly once installed and locked and unlocked with the drivers door. I noticed after installing it I could hear a vibration when closing the tailgate. I took it apart to see if something had come loose. Nothing was loose. I discovered that the mounting bracket is so thin that when I close the tailgate the weight of the actuator cause the bracket to flex causing the noise. No big deal. Used it for a couple months and then I started having intermittent problems with the tailgate not unlocking. I would have to hit the lock and unlock buttons multiple times. Then it started not locking or unlocking. I also discovered that on my particular truck if the tailgate didn’t lock the cab doors didn’t lock either. If I unplug the tailgate lock the rest of the locks work fine. When I dug into it it comes back to the bracket. The constant opening and closing of the tailgate caused the bracket to bend which in turn causes the actuator rod to bind up. The actuator isn’t strong enough to overcome the added friction. If the bracket was totally re designed I think it would be a good kit. I’ve had it unplugged for 6 months or more because no matter what I do with the bracket it won’t stay unless I just never open the tailgate.

I have to lock my truck 3 times or more to get it to engage..weak solenoid

The lock definitely should not take 3 attempts to unlock it. I reached out to the manufacturer who will reach out to you directly.

Lock works as described. Electrical connection to driver actuator, but it takes double unlock to fully open lock device. Once in a while it takes a third "unlock" push to fully open, so 4 stars.
Very happy with purchase though.

2017 Dodge Ram Pickup
Great product, installed easily with good instructions. Worked as designed, I think it was a pretty positive lock for the tailgate. Ultimately traded my 2003 Ram for a 2017 Ram with a locking tailgate, when I get a cap I will probably be looking for the electric lock for it.
