Today we're going to review part number DZDB-2600. This is the DeeZee Specialty Series Underbody Toolbox. This is a steel construction and it is black in color. This underbody box is ideal for storage under your flatbed truck, your dump truck of the trailer body. It is a corrosion proof 12-gauge steel construction. As you can see, it has a rectangular underbody style, have the single drop down door.
As you can see, it has a stainless steel locking key handle which will help prevent theft. You just open it up and turn it. The door will drop down. It has cables, steel cables on each side that will prevent the door from completely going all the way down. The front has a lock on it so if you turn the key handle, push it close.
If you just turn the key half a turn that would lock it. The handle will still open but it wont turn either way, so it is locked into position. It comes with the two keys. Now, to mount this, this is a very simple installation. You can mount this to your truck or your trailer using the DeeZee Universal Mounting Kit.
We do sell that separately. Its part number DZDB-2502 and that is actually required to install this properly. Basically that kit is two L-shaped brackets that would mount on each side and then be able to bolt up under the vehicle youre putting it on. This does have a black powder coat finish. Lets unlock it.
The interior capacity that this is holding here is 4.5 cu ft. It does have a three-year limited warranty and another nice feature, it has a very nice rubber feel that runs around the whole area here so that when he actually closes the door it will push up against that seal to prevent any type of dirt or grime from getting into the things youll be carrying on the inside here. Again, to lock it, just half a turn on the key, pull the key out. Handle opens but it wont open up. Its all locked up. I do want to give you a few dimensions on this. The overall length on this is 24 inches. The width on it is 18 inches. The overall height is 18 inches also. I use this on my custom teardrop trailer and I really like this tongue box.
One year later, this is holding up well. The only thing is that the lock hinge started to show a little rust almost right away, but it hasn't progressed too much. It was a little disappointing though.
That said, I love that this has a padlock instead of having to use yet-another small key (I already have 3 just for my teardrop). It wasn't something I considered originally but figured out as soon as I put my combo lock on it.
I do really like this tongue box. It was the perfect addition to my teardrop build.

Boxes arrived in 3-4 days. I got used ones and was very happy I didn’t pay the full price. They work fine just a few dinges. I painted the inside white to see tools easier. The boxes are aluminum, seems very light duty. I wouldn’t step on top of it. When you close the top, the sides flex when pressure is put on the latch. I would have preferred a heavy steel, but needed a small box for the location and this was the only one I could find. For an ATV it might work ok. Overall pretty happy- I just installed so we’ll see how they hold up over time. Next time I would look for a heavy steel one. I paid for 2 used ones the price of one new... to me a new one would not be worth the price they are asking... just too light duty.

I luv this thing... I use the fuel tank all the time.. the large capacity is awesome.. the toolbox is fantastic for capacity n the ease to reach.. U will not find a better combo on market today!

The DeeZee tongue box has been an ok box for storing all my off-road gear for my RZR and trailer items. Haven't had any water leaks or problems. Latch and lock have worked correctly. I mounted it on the tongue of my Aluma utility trailer that I use to haul my RZR. Most of the gear I have stored in it is pretty light weight. This box seems to be lite weight constructed; not sure how it would do for heavy items. One year using it and it still works and looks good on my trailer. This review template would not upload my photos??

First, I like it a lot. There is lots of room inside, it meets my needs and I would buy it again because I think it is a very good value! Cons, Steel latch which means 3 months outside and it is already rusting. (I will eventually replace with a marine grade.) The unit is very strong on the outer sides, but not so much in the middle. I am 200 lbs and can stand on the outer sides of it, but I would not try to do so in the middle. (Note - Manufacturer does NOT recommend standing on it at all and I am not suggesting you do!) Depending on your specific trailer frame and what you intend to put in the tool box you may need to add some bottom support. You can see where I added a support bar in the front. If I was doing this mount over again, I would add a support or 2 in the middle because a couple of spare axle hubs and a bottle jack are causing it to sag significantly.

Tool boxes work great .they hold all my roofing equipment . Leaving the bed of truck for hauling supplies . An the cab of the truck for hauling the crew .thank you so much for these boxes .

i returned the brackets and fashioned my own since one size didn't fit all.
the aluminum cargo bays (one on each side) are a great addition- glad i got them they are very handy and always in use.

Fits 2 group 31 batteries with room to spare. High quality box that looks and works great. The box does not come with battery hold downs, which I prefer because I could mount the batteries any way I wanted.

Seems like a solid lightweight box. The latch and locking mechanism are solid and the hinge is reinforced which is nice. I also like that the gas strut for the lid has a sleeve so if any gear shifts it won't interfere or damage the strut.

- Dimensions of the Opening Of the DeeZee Specialty Series Underbody Toolbox DZDB-2600I spoke with my contact at DeeZee and they informed me that the opening of the DeeZee Cargo Box part # DZDB-2600 measures 23 inches long by 17 inches tall. I attached a picture that shows these dimensions.

- Storage Box Recommendation for the Tongue of a PWC TrailerFor a small lockable storage box for your PWC trailer I would recommend the DeeZee Toolbox part # DZDB-2600. The dimensions of this box are 24" long x 18" wide x 18" tall. Attaching it requires a little bit of creativity, the easiest way to do this would be to use U-bolts that are large enough to fit the tongue of your trailer.
