The UWS Slim Line Series offers full-size features for smaller truck beds by using the limited space in front of the wheel well. This toolbox sits along the truck bed 2-1/4 inches above your bed rails, fitting snugly behind the cab. The insulated, beveled, single lid opens to a full 90 degrees with the help of two super-duty lift cylinders, which raise the lid and hold it open as you load and unload your gear. The divided tool tray provides additional storage for smaller items, ensuring that they are readily available.

Today, were going to take a quick look at UWS low profile Truck Bed Toolbox, part number UWS07044. UWS builds their boxes out of .063 aluminum tread plate. Theyre fully welded seams, built here in the USA, and covered by a one-year warranty. The box has a total of 6-1/2 cubic feet of usable storage space. Were going to go over a few dimensions with you real quick. The overall length of the box measures in at 72 inches.
The width of the box measures in at 12 and the overall height measures in at 17-1/4. Now with the lid closed from the bottom here, where it sits on the bed rails, youll add about 2-1/4 inches of height to your bed rails. Included with the box is the J-bolt installation hardware kit, the keys for latches, as well as two pieces of foam padding that youll put between the box in the bed of your truck. Along the backside of the box is full length piano hinge that makes opening the lid nice and easy. To accompany the hinge, theres a pair of gas struts on either side that will help to open the lid and hold it open while youre loading and unloading.
The lid is foam-filled and reinforced to give it extra strength that way you can close the lid with one hand from either corner of the box. Theres also a foam gasket around the lid of the box thats going to help seal water out and prevent it from getting inside. Inside the box is another aluminum sliding tray that you can move to access whats below but keeps small items easily accessible. There are also two small trays on either end the box. The stainless steel latch system has a connecting rod, connecting one latch to the other, so operation of one also operates the other.
The latch on the drivers side is the latch thats lockable, so you can quickly unlock and lock the box when youre getting in and out of your truck. Thats it for a quick look at the UWS Low-Profile Truck Bed Toolbox, part number UWS07044.

I have a short box Ram 2500. I also pull a 5th wheel camper. A regular sized box would interfere with the hitch. This box works perfectly. It is not super heavy duty, but a good value for the price.

Awesome “tool” box. Yes, small enough to clear out my back seat area. And some jumper cables, and some camping gear, and miscellaneous items. It arrived well packaged. It took me about 10-15 minutes to install - heck, it took me just as long to unpack it. Not damaged. My truck is a short bed and I need as much space as necessary - camping stuff or a mountain bike or a kayak or two, you know, the usual “weekend warrior” stuff.
Seems like a great product. Heavier sheet metal than others I looked at. Lid and latches seem solid.
Gotta love etrailer. Unit arrived earlier than expected and packaged well with no damage. Service was awesome.
Awesome UWS toolbox and excellent service from etrailer.com. The toolbox fits my F150 perfectly, and I had to install new Back Rack mounts. The toolbox is large enough to hold all the hitches, compression straps, tow straps, jumper cables, and bungee nets that were piled high behind our seats. It arrived in perfect condition, and it locks easily. It also opens with only one handle. The toolbox is the perfect size so I still have access to the area underneath for plastic tubs, or the front end of kayaks. Score a really great one for etrailer.com and UWS.
Incredibly well packaged. Look at UWS website for vid. Of how meticulous they are. Watch other videos for installation. Matter of minutes. Very well constructed. Only gripe I have is e trailer video showing measurements shows 12in.front to back (depth). In reality 4 in.up from the bottom, around the entire box sets in one inch thus leaving only 10 inches of space,not 12 for the bottom 4 inchesofthebox. Cohld havebeenamoreaccuratemeasurement. I cannotseethe lid from my rear view mirror which I like. About a foot of space under the box for cargo. A definite plus in a short bed. Best on line price was from e trailer. Arrived in 6 days direct from manufacturer. Very pleased overall, no more stuff on the floor of my cab.
I’m a forester and it holds everything I need everyday. Small and compact and works like a charm. Keeps plenty of room available in a 5 foot bed.

I searched online for a narrow cross over box and found something at a couple of sites, but etrailer had exactly what I wanted, offered the best box and at a competitive price. Check out was easy and they upgraded my shipping to 3 days for free. It arrived just as they projected. The box fit my truck perfectly and I am completely satisfied. I have continued to look at etrailer for additional accessories and will recommend to others.
This Slim Line Series - 6.3 cu ft works very good with the side boxes on both sides of the truck. Have access to open from standing on the side of the pickup truck with the side boxes installed. Makes a nice combination for a pickup truck Installed on a 2022 F-150 6'5" bed.
This tool box was a little tricky to install. I had a professional mechanic help me. It is now properly installed and looks great on my truck. I was so happy to discover that a slimline toolbox was indeed available. My crew cab Tacoma only as has a five-foot bed. A larger tool box would have left me with only about 3.5 feet of bed. This slimline box allowed me to retain four feet of bed, which fits my needs. Very fine box. Good workmanship. I am very pleased with it and would recommend it to others who need a slimline design.
Toolbox arrived in good condition and fit exactly how I hoped it would.
Waited 3 weeks for tool box and payed $40 for special handling by UPS. Tool box was poorly packed in plain cardboard box and had two significant dents in it. etrailer offered for me to ship the box back for credit or give me a $60 refund for damage. I guess that means they are waiving the $40 for 'special handling' and taking a $20 hit themselves - wow. I kept the box and pounded out dents with rubber hammer best I could.
Not too satisfying...Beware
It definitely fits the truck better. The only thing I don't like are the hydraulics - they are WAAAY too stiff - it takes a herculean effort to close the lid.

Box is has been good and fits the needs I had. The the slim box, leaves more bad for short beds. It did show up with a small ding when delivered, but it was on the back side so I didn’t worry about it.
