Draw-Tite Tested Tough

Draw-Tite Tested Tough

Draw-Tite's Tested Tough program provides testing standards far superior to those outlined by the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE), the go-to source for engineering professionals.

Each Draw-Tite trailer hitch receiver undergoes extensive fatigue testing and static testing with the ball mount that is either supplied or recommended for use with that particular hitch, thus ensuring results that are applicable to real life use. Fatigue testing is also conducted on hitches rated for use with weight-distribution systems.

In addition, Draw-Tite performs static testing on a simulated automobile, as opposed to the rigid fixture used for SAE testing, resulting in a more true-to-life scenario.

Product arrived on time and well packaged. Instructions were pretty straight forward. Exhaust needed to be lowered. I tried hard to avoid that! *PRO TIP* spray a little rubbing alcohol on the rubber hanger, it helped it to slip off relatively easily. Take pictures of the fascia before you remove it. You'll thank yourself later. If you don't have a lift, you're going to want someone to help you. Installation took an hour, but part of that was figuring out getting the fascia back the way it was originally. I have a 2017 Tuscon Sport and this hitch fits great and looks great. When nothing is attached to the hitch, it's almost invisible.

In under an hour solo with no jack! Ready for a cargo carrier.

Nobody was able to source the hitch and wiring kit locally. I gave up and browsed the internet where I found etrailer.com. My order arrived quickly and the shipping was free. I brought everything to [moving company] and the installer did the work without any problems. He did have to add a bracket to fasten the plug receptacle to the hitch unit, but it only cost $x. There is an installation video on etrailer.com for my year and model Hyundai Tucson, so I could have installed it myself if I had wanted to. It doesn't get much better than that. etrailer.com earned 6 stars, to be honest!

I purchased a trailer hitch for my 2017 Hyundai Tucson. First I was going to have my brother-in-law help me install it, then I was going to have a pro shop install it, then I watched some install videos and decided to install it myself with a little creativity. I have never been more proud of myself when I finished installing it today! It's perfect and solid and I am so happy to have a hitch at an affordable cost. Not bad for a 55 year old chick!

by:

Really easy install and has been greta ever since! I've used it to tow across the county and a few times locally. Would recommend etrailer hitches to anyone looking!

A year later and my hitch is still doing amazing! I purchased a plug for it to keep debris out and its still in the same condition as when I bought it. I mainly use the hitch to hook up my bikes.

by:
2017 Hyundai Tucson

Fits well on my 2017 Tucson Eco, maybe too well as the holes had to be perfectly aligned. I had to undo the two exhaust rubber hangars that support the muffler and I'm certain if it wasn't for my friend, I would not have been able to do this by myself. It also didn't help that the Hyundai factory sprayed undercoat on a few of the screw holes. Overall I am satisfied with the hitch and I would recommend it because it has two holes which will come in hand when I use a J-pin.

Had my hitch set up as soon as it got delivered. Fit perfect on my 2017 hyundai tucson.

Still looking good as new. Hitch has been very stabled. No issues. Im thinking of getting rid of my vehicle I hate to let it go with that hitch.

The hitch went on easy. Nice fit you can’t see it except the receiver. My only complaint is the box showed up with holes where the hitch went through the box. One of the stickers on hitch was torn. It needs to be packaged better. Bubble wrap to keep it from moving around in the box.
Glad nothing got bent.

2016 Hyundai Tucson

I am 70 years old and I installed the hitch by myself laying on the ground in about 20 minutes. All the holes lined up perfectly. The finished installation looks great with the receiver back under the bumper, not sticking out to hit your legs when you walk by.

by:

A precision fit and though a little difficult to get on it was definitely a 2 person job. This is an excellent hitch and the online video for installation made all the difference in the world. The dealer wanted $469 plus installation which I probably would have done if not for the video!

by:
2016 Hyundai Tucson

Recieved my hitch via ups and it was in excellent condition, the installation video was perfect as far as explaining what's involved with doing yourself. I installed it myself within 20 min. I will continue using there products in the future.

by:

Excellent products and service. Quick free shipping and notifications throughout the process. Fits my Tucson Sport perfectly. Installation Video is well done and very helpful. Take the advice of dropping the exhaust to make the installation easier.

The videos that etrailer does for the products they sell are so helpful. I’m a visual learner and reading instructions never seem to suffice. Great tips given in the videos as well.

The receiver is installed but not used as of yet, It was very easy to install, took my neighbor and I 30 minutes to complete the job. It wil be mainly used to transport my bike. thanks to the customer service for the help

Easy installation

by:

Easy to install into the factory treads. Put it in myself after watching one video. You will need something to hold up the opposite end. I used car ramps and a jack. Trailor is made well and came with all the hardware to fasten it to the car. We have experienced no issues since installation. We use it for a bicycle carrier. Would buy again.

Great product one year later. No rust. Continues to perform it’s function without fail. Purchased a hitch shelf and taking it to the beach this week. It is tucked up nicely so you only see what you have to unlike some that have the big bar visible. Buy without hesitation.

Solid product and it’s be used a lot. Just towed a 6x12 trailer from Washington to Florida and it didn’t let me down. Great product and i couldn’t be happier.

Use my hitch to attach a bike carrier to my Tucson. I have not had a single problem with the hitch, and the carrier mounts in minutes, and is very secure. Carried two bikes back and forth between New York and Florida without a second thought. The locking link pin is a worthwhile additional purchase.

8/12/2021

Works great. Some peeling of the powder coating at the mouth of the hitch.

by:

What good is this product when it does not come with any holes in order to secure the hitch while it’s inside the receiver? Worthless product and what’s worse, I did not recognize it until after I had it professionally installed. Stay away from Draw-tite. The 2” sleeve has the metal mounting plates welded on the outside covering the holes. See photos

I found this website through a search for a car hitch I wanted to buy. It was cheaper and there was free shipping. They made it easy to find one that fit my car and I felt confident in my purchase. It did delivered quickly however the box had been beaten up pretty good in delivery. The ends of the hitch has been exposed and the paint has been chipped. since it's for under my car, I just touched up the paint with some black spray paint I had just to protect it against rust and installed it anyway but I would suggest packing the boxes better to ensure that your product does not get damaged in transmit.

Thank you for your review! You definitely did the right thing by covering up the exposed metal with paint as that will help to keep your hitch in good shape. Customer Service will be reaching out to you shortly.

Though the hitch was a little trickier to install than the video showed, I got it done by myself. It just took a little longer. It's a great hitch at a GREAT price! I know. I shopped around.

Hitch has met all my expectations. Its main purpose is to receive my Thule bike rack to carry my nearly 50 lb. ebike.

by:

Two words: Simply works! This is my second hitch, one for each car I had and these are trouble free vehicle components. It carries a bike rack 24/7 zero issues.

Federico

Perfect. Zero negative observations. It has a Thule bike rack attached since without a single flaw.

2018 Hyundai Tucson

This is an excellent after market addition to my 2018 Hyundai Tucson. I waited a year after purchase to review this product.

I originally purchased this to use with my trailer mount bike rack. (I don't trust the strap on bike racks). I have since added electrical to the vehicle, and pulled a double waverunner trailer with it. No issues with the hitch at all.

It is a perfect fit for the Tucson. Every bolt hole lined up with the pre-tapped holes in the frame. I have a friend with a repair shop. So we put the car on the lift and had all the proper tools to do a quick install, so I really can't comment on a DIY install.

I would recommend jack stands to let you get under the car with extra space. Be careful with the push pins that hold the trim panels in place. Make sure you get in between both discs to pry loose. Separate the discs to re-insert after install.

Dropping the muffler by removing the dampers makes install easier, but those dampers are hard to remove without a muffler removal tool.

The hitch looks natural when installed. Almost like an OEM hitch.

5 stars, and I would recommend this to anyone needing a hitch on their Tucson.

by:
2016 Hyundai Tucson

The trailer hitch has been fantastic. I use it to attach a cargo carrier in order to have extra space in the car for the dogs. It was super easy to install - remove to two rear exhaust hangers and it slides right in. I used a jack to steady the hitch and installed myself on a 2016 Tucson in about 30 minutes. The hitch looks great and has been used about 10 times on trips over 500 miles with no issues.

The Draw Tite hitch part # 75836 that fits your 2019 Hyundai Tucson does not include trailer wiring but we can help with that.
