Product was good, easy to install and worked fine. etrailer gets a review of one star, won't use them again. Averages out to a generous three stars.

by:

This is a review specifically for installing on a 1990 Ford E350 Super Wagon with the extended body. I did not have to relocate the exhaust or spare tire, but I did need to drill all 6 mounting holes. This was not much trouble at all and I had the hitch installed by myself in about 2 hours.

This hitch feels very strong and I have towed my 2000 pound boat trailer several times with no problem at all. It's the best looking part of my whole van!

by:

I did not expect to have to straighten the bent side arm of the trailer hitch in a vice after it came out of the box. I did not think an E350 Ford van was so unusual as to require drilling the frame to make it fit as the instructions directed. I am glad this hitch will allow me to tow with my van, but I expected a product that would fit when it came out of the box, and it did not.

1997 Honda Pilot

This hitch has worked wonderfully for the last year on my 1997 Ford E250. I easily installed the hitch in a under an hour. The spare tire had to be loosened while installing and I had to drill the frame in order to insert the forward bolts. The best way to drill the frame is to drill a small pilot hole and then drill the larger hole. We have used it to pull trailers and car dollies but we mostly use it to hold a motorcycle carrier.

All good and looks excellent

by:
1994 FordVan

I was able to install the Class-III hitch on my Ford E150 van in a day. It fit nicely - only the muffler had to be temporarily moved to get the bolts in as intended but that was only a minor time adder.
Towed my 3,500# trailer from SC to NM and back w/o issues.

Strong good looking work horse! Perfect to pull the RZR.

by:

45 min. installation with no drilling needed for my 2002 Ford E250 van. Had to drop and reposition the spare tire a bit, but the hitch fits and looks great. Plus, I got free shipping. Very satisified!

by:
1998 Lincoln Town Car

I'll mark you excellent even though I haven't checked the hitch yet to make sure it's right. Ordered another one from the Hitch store for a Lincoln Town car, was told no drilling but all holes had to be drilled on bottom and side of frame to tighten bolts. Will never order from them again. This experience has been great so far and will order from you again.

by:

Have not installed hitch yet but it’s all here complete with hardware to mount
Would definitely recommend doing business with etrailer

  • Does Install of Curt Hitch on 1991 Ford E-150 Require Drilling
To install a trailer hitch like the # 13053 on your 1991 Ford E-150 Van there is some drilling required but most of the holes in the frame are already drilled and ready to go. There are 6 holes total that would be used to install the hitch and only the 2 holes towards the front of the vehicle are have to be drilled.

  • Comparing Curt Class III and Class IV Trailer Hitches for 1999 Ford Van
There are two views on this scenario...but yes the Curt hitch part # 13053 with a 5,000 lb capacity and the part # 14053 with a 10,000 lb capacity both fit your 1999 Ford Van. So since you know you don't need the additional capacity there really isn't much to gain by going with the higher rated hitch so why spend the extra money? But if you think you might ever need to tow a heavier trailer then it does make the most sense to get the higher rated hitch. That's how I'd approach the choice...

  • Recommended Trailer Hitch Receiver For a 1999 Ford E-150 Van
For your 1999 Ford E-150 Van I recommend the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # 13053. This custom fit class III receiver is rated for a trailer tongue weight up to 500lbs and total trailer weight up to 5,000lbs. If you are using a Weight Distribution Hitch # EQ37100ET trailer capacity increases to 750lbs of tongue weight and a trailer up to 7,500lbs. The Tekonsha T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness # 118344 will give you a 4-way flat connector. This connector can be used with most small trailers...

  • Which Hitch for 1999 Ford E150 Passenger Van Sticks Out Least Curt or Draw Tite
I attached two pictures to this page for you to check out. The picture with the hitch that sticks out further and has angled crosstubes is the Draw Tite part # 75703 and the one that is more recessed is the Curt # 13053. Both fit your 1999 Ford Van and will install the same basically.

  • Can I still Carry My Full Size Spare With A 2005 Ford E-150 After Installing The Curt 13053 Hitch?
There will be no issue getting your full size spare back up in place once the Curt # 13053 is installed on your 2005 Ford E-150. It may sit a little more forward than before, but the cable system that holds the spare in place will do this just fine.

  • Will the Curt Class III Hitch # 13053 Fit on a 1998 E350 Van with 245/65-16 Spare Tire Installed
As long as the 245/65-16 spare tire on your 1998 E350 Van is the OEM size spare, the Curt Class III Trailer Hitch, item # 13053, will fit with the spare tire in the OEM location. The spare may need to be slightly repositioned but will not require modification. If the 245/65-16 spare tire on your van is larger than the original size spare tire then we have not been able to test the fit with that size wheel and tire installed. For a ball mount to be used with the factory step bumper you...

  • Recommended Trailer Hitch and Towing Accessories for 1995 Ford E150 Econoline Van
The best hitch for you will depend on what you're planning on using it for and what kind of weight you'll be towing. For a basic Class III hitch with a 5000 Gross Trailer Weight/Gross Tongue Weight, the Curt # 13053 would be recommended. For a higher capacity of 10,000 GTW/1000 TW, the Curt Class IV hitch, part # 14053 would be an excellent choice. There are other hitch alternatives like the Draw-Tite # 75703 you mentioned that are a bit more expensive, but Curt manufactures an excellent...

  • Trailer Hitch for 2014 Thor Chateau Citation 24SA on Mercedes Sprinter 3500 Chassis
The only trailer hitch we carry that may work for your 2014 Thor Chateau Citation 24SA built on a Mercedes Sprinter 3500 chassis is a frame-mounted RV hitch. The Curt # C13702 is for RVs that have a frame which is between 18" and 51" wide while the Ultra-Fab # UF35-946403 works with frames that are between 47" and 77". Each is designed to be used on I-beam, C-channel or box frames, though the Ultra-Fab is meant to be used with accessories only, while the Curt can be used for towing purposes.

  • Recommended Hitch for 2006 Ford E-350 Cutaway Van
If your 2006 Ford E-350 Cab/Cutaway Van has holes on the rear frame members that are 38-5/8" apart, you can use the Curt # 13053, which is a Class III hitch with a 2" receiver. Because of the rear step bumper you will likely need to use a ball mount with a longer shank AND a drop on it like the Draw-Tite # 4283 in order to tow a trailer, but that won't effect the fit of the hitch otherwise. You will want to measure from the center of the hitch pin to the edge of the step bumper to determine...
