Will the Curt Class III Hitch # 13053 Fit on a 1998 E350 Van with 245/65-16 Spare Tire Installed
Question:
interested in putting this on a 1998 E350 diesel. will it clear a 245/65/16 spare, and I have a factory step bumper. What length ball mount do I need to clear?

Expert Reply:
As long as the 245/65-16 spare tire on your 1998 E350 Van is the OEM size spare, the Curt Class III Trailer Hitch, item # 13053, will fit with the spare tire in the OEM location. The spare may need to be slightly repositioned but will not require modification.
If the 245/65-16 spare tire on your van is larger than the original size spare tire then we have not been able to test the fit with that size wheel and tire installed.
For a ball mount to be used with the factory step bumper you could use the 13-1/4 inch long Ball Mount, item # BM20.
Some items you may want to consider to complete your Class III towing setup are listed below.
Wiring # 118425
Drawbar # BM20
Hitch Ball # 19260 or # 19247
Hitch Lock # e98880
