Each Draw-Tite trailer hitch receiver undergoes extensive fatigue testing and static testing with the ball mount that is either supplied or recommended for use with that particular hitch, thus ensuring results that are applicable to real life use. Fatigue testing is also conducted on hitches rated for use with weight-distribution systems.

Today we are working on a 2002 Mercury Villager. We are going to be installing Draw-Tite part number 36277, which is also comparable to Hidden Hitch part number 90072. Before we begin our installation, here are a couple of measurements that will help you when ing accessories for your hitch. From the center of the hitch pin hole to the outer most point of your bumper is 6 inches. And from the top of the receiver tube to the ground is 12 inches. This will help you with accessories such as a draw bar, a bike rack or a cargo carrier. Now let us go ahead and start our installation. 0:36
Now we are going to go ahead and point out our attachment points. This is the driver side. Now we will look at the passenger side. With this vehicle, we recommend to spray the mounting points and clean them out with a nylon tube brush, part number 814092. I am going to repeat that same process for all four attachment points. Ok, before we install our new hitch, I am going to have to remove the fascia brackets. There is one on both sides. We will go ahead and do that now. And they will not be reinstalled on the vehicle. Now that we have our fascia brackets out of the way, we can go ahead and install our new hitch. 1:17
We just want to put our bolts in finger tight for now until we get all four attachment points in place. Now that we have all of our fasteners in finger tight, I am going to repeat the same process on the passenger side. We are going to go ahead and run them down. That completes the driver side. I am going to go repeat the same process on the passenger side. Now that we have all of our fasteners run down, we can go ahead and torque to specifications. That completes torquing to specifications on my driver side. I am going to go repeat the same process on my passenger side. Now that we have all of our fasteners torqued to specification, this completes the installation of our Draw-Tite part number 36277, again also comparable to Hidden Hitch part number 90072.

This is a great product, custom designed to fit my Mercury Villager. The hitch fits very well, up into the chassis so you can barely see it, yet strong and very functional.
