Powder coated steel is sturdy and corrosion resistant.So the time had arrived that we no longer had a truck to load simple things and haul them to and from wherever we needed them. So that is where I started on the journey of having that capability added to my Stelvio. ie.. Small trailers and cargo racks..
My first move was to contact the Dealership.. Wrong move.. The exact same item with "Their logo" and HEAVILY marked up; plus the labor charges.. North of $1100.. Needless to say I politely said no and moved on down the road for other options.. another online retailer?? Price plus install.. Avg. $326..
UHaul in N Texas?? Price plus install.. $309..
Both places I would have had to drop it off for a day or so they said..
After watching the video several times, I decided to tackle the install myself.. That insight plus the additional advice from the other reviewers I was able to get it installed right at about an 70mins.. That included breaks and back and forth bickering with my spouse.. So it theoretically could have been done in about 45-50 mins..
Video does a great job in tutoring you what you have to look forward to.. Few screws you can put back right away because after you modify the under panels those screws won't hold up anything. So do your research..
Also.. There is a black panel that lines the fascia right above where the hitch will make contact as you push it up into place. That will need to be removed. (I included a pic Included).. If not removed, it will not allow the hitch to be properly pushed up and allow the bolts to be properly seated and or tightened..
All in all, it does look pretty good.
Let me finish with this.. If I had to give it a number on the difficulty scale?? I would have to give it a 5.. Maaaybe 6 (cause of the wife trying to help)..

We love the Stelvio vehicle. When we first purchased last year a negative was that there was no trailer hitch available. We ride bikes and the hitch was a need for our rack. I was excited to see that a hitch was finally available. I installed by myself (67 years young). The instructions and video were helpful.
The only downside was that the small black trim below the rear panel needed to be removed for the hitch to snug up.
Perfect fit for the Stelio, did not have to remove the bumper like other models. Looks great! Unfortunately there was a significant scrape from shipping but otherwise it was great!
I was pleased when I found that E-Trailer had A Curt hitch for my Alfa Romeo Stelvio. I have used E-Trailer for hitches for several of my families cars and have been pleased with the excellent products and quick service, the same is true for my most recent purchase for the Alfa.
This is the second Curt hitch I've had and the quality is far superior to a hidden hitch I had on a previous car. Only had to wait 4 days for the hitch to arrive so very pleased with my order.

Ive had several hitches over the years and because of winter salt they always rust. This is the first one that shows no signs of rust after two winters. I highly recommend.
We needed a hitch for our bike rack on our 2019 Stelvio. The video looked pretty easy to install so I went ahead and purchased one. Before installing it I watched the video about 10 times and ready the instructions to get comfortable with everything fully realizing it was not going to be as easy as the video made it look. Moving along, I was amazed at how easily everything was going, even the installation of the bolt which I dreaded, was a snap! The cutting of the heat shield was right on. The lining up of the holes was a little difficult when putting the heat shield back in. The fit was very good and the hitch was well engineered. It wasn't until I got to the very end did I realize the video had a MAJOR FLAW, with the hitch in place, it was impossible to get a driver head in place to tighten 2 of the screws back in. There was not enough clearance between the top of the hitch and the screw head. Had I known, it would not have been an issue either because those 3 small screws and one large screw in the back that you remove from the beginning can be replaced as soon as you get the heat shield off. The are taken off to access one of the screws holding the heat shield in place, but when you trim the heat shield, that screw is no longer need, so you can tighten the screws back up because you won't have to access the bolt later. I did not want to take the time to take everything apart fearing I would loose one of the bolts in the frame.
Another good hitch from etrailer. Our last two hitches have been two-inch receivers, so I've had them installed by our vehicle dealer. I'm too old and the hitches are too heavy and cumbersome for me to deal with. That said, the hitch fits fine, is completely secure, and certainly durable.
This product was easiest hitch I have installed (way easier than Subaru Outback or Volvo XC60). Most of the time was spent sorting out which screws to reattach the under-body plastic panels. Those underside panels did have to be cut according to supplied template. I used tin snips and it took less than 5 minutes for both panels. Did not have to disturb the exhaust or move anything else. The hitch is very tight and snug against the rear bumper and no visible panels had to be cut. The hitch looks like it belongs there! Thank you, Curt!
This is the third trailer hitch purchased from etrailer (for my different cars) and it fits like a glove. The standard shipping was faster than I expected and product quality is excellent as well. Installation video online makes it super easy!

After a year if towing my boat trailer with the Curt hitch on my Stelvio al is fine. Its the third hitch Ive bought from etrailer, I couldnt be happier with the service.
