Today, on our 2016 Lincoln MKC, we're going to be taking a look at and installing the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver class II, part number c12096. Now, here's what it looks like once installed. As you can see, it's got a nice, black powder coated finish with flat style, safety chain loops, with a nice large hole in them. It should accommodate just about any size toe hook that you might have. It's got a nice collar around the outside. It's going to give it a nice dressed up appearance. With our hitch, the only that's going to be visible is going to be our receiver tube.
Everything else is tucked up neatly underneath our vehicle. This is a complete bolt on system. There's no holes to drill. You're just going to fish a couple bolts to the frame and attach it, and you're ready to go. This hitch has a 350 pound tongue weight, which is a downward force and 3500 of trailer force. That's going to be how much you can tow with it.
Now, keep in mind, you want to check with manufacturer to make sure your vehicle's actually able to tow that amount of weight. If you're going to be using this hitch with a non-trailer load, such as a cargo carrier or a bike rack, it's required that you use a stabilization strap. Now, we'll give you some measurements that's going to help in selecting some accessories such as a ball mount, a cargo carrier, or a bike rack. From the ground to the inside of the hitch receiver tube, it's about 13 and a half inches. From the center of the hitch pin hole to the outermost part of our bumper is about 5 and a half inches. Now, let's go ahead and show you how to install it. Now, our first step would be to drop our exhaust.
We're going to take our 13 millimeter socket. That's going to be 2 bolts on each side. Just want to kind of support it while you're dropping it down. Not going to come too far. It's going to hit the cross member.
We're removing from both sides. With our exhaust hanging down and out of the way, we're going to rotate our clamps down so we have some room. Just like that. Now, we're going to need to enlarge these 2 oval holes that are behind our exhaust racket. Just take 2 pry bars and we'll pry against one another to enlarge the whole just large enough to be able to get the head of our carriage bolt up inside along with our block. We'll do that with both sides. Now, we're going to need to fish our carriage bolt in our block into the frame. It's going to come out through this hole here and through this hole here. We're going to take our fish wire, thread it side it. You have to bend it a little bit. We're going to put our block in place, followed by our bolt. Threat it all the way on. Push our block up in there. Take our bolt. We're going to bring it out, and we'll leave our fish wire attached. Now, we can go on to the rear hole and do the same thing. We'll repeat this process for the other side. Now, we can install our side plate. As you can see, on our side plate, it's going to kind of kick out at an angle. You want to make sure that is pointing to the outside of our vehicle on both sides. inaudible 00:04:05 through the holes. We're going to slide into position. Now, we want to take our fish wire off carefully not to drop our bolt and block back down inside the frame rail. Carefully start your nut on and snug it up by hand. I'm going to move on to our rear hole. You have to bend your femoral liner out of the way. I'm going to do the same thin on this one. You can a screwdriver and hold pressure on it so it doesn't fall back in. We'll snug that one into place. Now, we'll repeat this process for the other side. Once we have both sides in place, loosely take our hitch and we're going to slide it up from the passenger's side. Slide it up from the inside. Slide one bolt in. We'll do the same thin on the other side to hold it in position. Now, we can start a nut on there. We got a nut on both sides to make sure it's going to stay up in position and not fall down. We can install our other bolt. Going to be a total of 3 per side. Now, we'll take our hitch and slide all the way to the back. We can snug up our bolts on the frame first. We'll do all 4 of those, and we can tighten up our center section. Now, starting with our frame bolts first, we're going to twerk them down as specifications listed in our instructions. We're going to be using an 11/16 socket to tighten these. Once we have all of those tight, we can tighten up our center section. Now, we can reinstall our exhaust brackets. Now, we can twerk them down. That's going to do it for our look at and install of the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver class II, part number c12096 on our 2016 Lincoln MKC. .

Drawbar sold separately.Good Quality, Easy install on my particular SUV, fair price, although it did increase by $[XX] or so between the day I looked & purchased, but still a fair deal.
