Great hitch! I've pulled a lot of my buddies out of the ditch with it and it didn't rip off or break. Overall a solid product. Installation is easier the second time once you get the exhaust off it's easy enough. Took me and my buddy about a hour and a half start to finish. You have to round out the holes to get enough clearance to slide the rectangular shim through on Subarus. Easy enough with a drill. Could also be accomplished with a file.

I'm in the rust belt, getting the exhaust off can be difficult.

by:

Great product my second Curt product, and I will buy again. I think that instead of drilling larger holes, the instructions should follow OEM installation methods. If not, maybe include directions to paint bare metal exposed from drilling prior to install.

by:

This hitch fits nicely under the bumper (GV Impreza WRX) and is not too noticeable.

by:

Solid product. Perfect fit (the authorized Curt installers said so). Reasonably priced. The best products are the ones that do their function perfectly, no more, no less. This hitch is one of those products. The email updates on shipping status were helpful, and shipping was fast! There was _no_ cutting of the rear bumper and no extra drilling even though the instructions said there may be some drilling necessary.

Ryan, did you install on a WRX?

by:
2011 Subaru Impreza

I ordered a hitch for my Subaru Impreza to carry a Thule bike hitch rack. The hitch arrived on time. Unfortunately when we were installing the hitch, we realized that we were sent the incorrect screw/nut (3 of the 4 were correct, the 4th was the wrong size). I tried to contact etrailer, but was unable to talk to a person (long wait times the couple times I tried to call) and the company did not respond to my message sent through their website. This was disappointing as I had had no issues talking to someone prior to purchasing the hitch when I had questions. To sum, the hitch is great (5 stars) and the customer service mixed (3 stars).

Installing was easy enough, and completed independently. Works great!

Have not installed the trailer hitch yet but everything seems to be in order. Sales people were quick to respond to my inquiries and the product arrived on time.

2011 Subaru Impreza

I have a muffler delete on my car so the right hitch for my car just popped in place with no need to remove anything. Also the wires they give you to snake your bolts into the holes are ingenious and I need more of them in my life.

by:
2013 Subaru WRX

Fits 2013 WRX sedan..paired with c45023 drawbar.

Install was simple..did it solo. Remove bumper, remove mufflers(I removed 1 heat shield..then found out you dont nees to so 1 stayed), and drill out holes and install. If one person helps hold into place as you bolt in makes it easier..i used my body to prop it up.

At most half a day job if you live in NE like me where bolts are all rusted out. Could do it in an hour or 2.

Solid built..came fast.

  • Does Curt Trailer Hitch for 2013 Subaru Impreza WRX STi Require Fascia Trimming
The Curt Trailer Hitch part # C11317 is a confirmed fit for your son's 2013 Subaru Impreza WRX STI and would not require any modification of the lower fascia. As long as the exhaust on his vehicle is the stock dual exhaust this would fit and work well.

  • Trailer Hitch for a 2014 Subaru Impreza WRX Sedan
For the 2014 Subaru Impreza WRX sedan the correct trailer hitch is # C11317 that you have referenced. The recommended ball mount is # C45521 and the pin and clip is # F-4. For a 1-7/8 inch ball use # 19256 and for a 2 inch ball use # 19258. Trailer wiring will need to be obtained from a Subaru dealer.

  • Will the Thule T2 Trailer Hitch Mount Bike Rack Fit a 2009 Subaru Impreza
The Thule T2 Classic, # TH9045, is designed to fit in a 1-1/4 inch trailer hitch. If your 2009 Subaru Impreza has a hitch then you want to take some measurements to determine fit. Measure from the center of the hitch pin hole straight back to the distance required to clear the rear of the vehicle. If that distance is less than 18 inches then the rack will fit. If it is also less than 3-1/2 inches then it will fit when folded up. I looked at the instructions for the hitches we carry for...

If your 2013 Subaru Impreza STi is a hatchback then the trailer hitch that fits is # C11120. If it is a sedan model then you would need hitch # C11317. Since you want to use the hitch for a bike rack then you have to make sure the accessory is rated for use with a Class I trailer hitch. Also, with a bike rack, you are limited to 2 bikes maximum on a Class I hitch. I have linked the compatible bike racks for you. Curt also says you have to use stabilization strap # 18050 when using this...

For a hitch ball I recommend # 19256 for a 1-7/8 inch ball or #...

  • Will this Curt Trailer Hitch # C11317 Work with my Aftermarket Exhaust On my 2010 Subaru WRX
The aftermarket exhaust tips should not interfere with you being able to install this Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Class I - 1-1/4" # C11317. What would cause problems would be if the aftermarket exhaust had mufflers that were larger in diameter than the stock mufflers. The # C11317 does require some minor drilling for installation, but with a decent drill and drill bit you should not have a problem installing this hitch. I believe what you have is the standard Subaru with the single exhaust in that case the Draw-Tite Sportframe Trailer Hitch Receiver part # DT24959 is a good choice if you want the 1 1/4" receiver tube opening or the EcoHitch Invisi Trailer Hitch Receiver part # 306-X7211 if you would prefer the larger 2" receiver tube opening. • Meaning of Towing and Tongue Weight Capacities on Trailer Hitches for 2008 Subaru Impreza
When looking at a trailer hitch for your 2008 Subaru Impreza, the towing weight capacity refers to the maximum trailer weight that the hitch can safely pull. For a trailer hitch that has a 2,000 pound towing weight capacity, the most a trailer can weigh is 2,000 pounds when hooked up to this hitch. A tongue weight capacity refers to the maximum vertical load that can be placed onto the hitch receiver. This is usually more of a factor when looking at things like bike racks and cargo carriers,...

Instead you will need Curt Trailer Hitch # C11408 UNLESS your '13 Impreza sedan is a WRX or WRX STi model; if that is the case you will need Curt Trailer Hitch # C11317. Both of these are Class I hitches with a 1-1/4" receiver and complete bolt-on installations so you will not have to drill into your Subaru's frame.

  • Recommended Trailer Hitch for Towing Small Rental Trailer With 2008 Subaru Impreza
I'm seeing conflicting information regarding towing with a 2008 Subaru Impreza. Online searches seem to agree that the 2008 Impreza can tow 1200kg, or about 2600 lbs if the trailer has brakes. The owner's manual bluntly states that the car isn't intended to be used as a towing vehicle and lists no capacity. I'd recommend checking with a Subaru dealer for clarification. My suspicion is that the the 1200kg towing capacity I found refers to vehicles outside the US. This wouldn't be the first...
