The Thule T2 Classic, # TH9045, is designed to fit in a 1-1/4 inch trailer hitch. If your 2009 Subaru Impreza has a hitch then you want to take some measurements to determine fit. Measure from the center of the hitch pin hole straight back to the distance required to clear the rear of the vehicle. If that distance is less than 18 inches then the rack will fit. If it is also less than 3-1/2 inches then it will fit when folded up.
I looked at the instructions for the hitches we carry for your Impreza and it looks like the rack will fit when it is in the down position but not when folded up. If you need a hitch the most popular option is # C11317. I have linked the instructions for you.
All of the trailer hitches for the 2009 Impreza are Class I hitches. This means that you will need a bike rack that is Class I compatible. The T2 is Class I compatible and I have included a link to all the other racks we carry that are Class I compatible. You will notice that there are some 3 and 4 bike models that will fit. However, a Class I trailer hitch is limited to 2 bikes maximum, even if the rack can carry more.
