The hitch itself works great for what it’s advertised! My only concern or complaint is that it’s marketed as fitting directly into my vehicle without any modification, which I had to hit in where the spare tire sits under the car to make just enough clearance for the mounting bracket.

Once it's on it looks nice. Not simple to put on without a lift. Bolts can be a little tricky getting though the frame. Hitch is made of good quality.

Fit and finish is nice, but install requires patience. Removing the exhaust hangers was difficult, but manageable. Overall happy with the product!

This hitch was very well packed, fit

  • Are Stabilizing Straps Required For Carrying Bike Racks With a Curt Hitch # C11312
You will need to use stabilizing straps when you are using the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # C11312 to carry a bike rack or cargo carrier on your 2009 Ford Mustang. This is required by Curt as an extra safety precaution and is needed to maintain their warranty. As long as the bike rack and bikes do not exceed the tongue capacity of this hitch and you use a stabilizer strap like # 18050, you would have no problem installing a bike rack into this hitch. I attached installation instructions...

  • Trailer Hitch and Wiring for a 2006 Ford Mustang
For your 2006 Ford Mustang V6 I recommend the Curt trailer hitch # C11312, it is the only hitch available for the 06 Mustang. You will also need a ball mount like the Draw Tite # 3592 and a pin and clip # F-4. In addition to the hitch, ball mount, and pin/clip you will need a properly sized ball for the coupler on the rental trailer. It will either take a 1-7/8 inch ball, # 19256, or a 2 inch ball, # 19258. The rental company should be able to tell you which you will need. And last you...

  • Is Drilling Required to Install Curt Trailer Hitch C11312 on a 2005 Ford Mustang
For Curt trailer hitch # C11312 for your 2005 Ford Mustang you might have to enlarge an access hole which you could do with a drill. But no new holes will need to be drilled. And you may not have to enlarge the access hole either. If you want to use the hitch for an accessory such as a bike rack or cargo carrier then you have to make sure the accessory is rated for use with a Class I trailer hitch. Also, with a bike rack, you are limited to 2 bikes maximum on a Class I hitch. Curt also...

  • Can a Trailer Hitch be Installed on a 2007 Ford Mustang GT
First, if you go through our fit guide for a specific year, make, and model vehicle, if you do not also select a specific trim level (if available) from the drop down menu it will show you all the hitches for all the trim levels. Some fit multiple trim levels so that is why you see it fitting GT and not GT. You can install a Curt trailer hitch # C11312 on your 2007 Ford Mustang GT as long as it is not a specialty GT model. The easiest way to tell, it fits the Mustangs with the V6, but...

  • Can a 2 Inch Hitch Bike Rack be Used on a 2009 Ford Mustang With a 1-1/4 Inch Hitch
There are not currently any 2 inch hitches available for a 2009 Ford Mustang. The best option would be to replace the bike rack with one made for a 1-1/4 inch hitch or if you will use the bike on another vehicle equipped with a 2 inch hitch, you can get a bike rack that is built for both sizes like part # S64670. The hitches available for your 2009 Mustang are all Class I, so you will probably be limited to 2 bikes depending on the carrier. You could use an adapter to turn a 1-1/4 inch...

  • Trailer Hitch Recommendation for a 2007 Ford Mustang V6 with Dual Exhaust
For your 2007 Ford Mustang V6 we have the Curt hitch part # C11312 as a confirmed fit. I can't tell if by aftermarket system you are referring to the exhaust system or even possibly a stereo? If the exhaust is aftermarket you may run into fit issues, but that is going to depend on how close the exhaust is to what comes factory on the car. This hitch is a pretty tight fit with the stock exhaust too so that might be an issue. The T2 Classic # TH9045 would fit this hitch well though.
