JImmy, do you have any problems with the installation?I read up here that the bolts didnt match and that you need to remove the exhaust in Saturn Vue. I am wondering if that is the case with the Chevy Capriva.Thanks in advance

Easy installation. Simple sturdy design. Satisfied with both of my Curt trailer hitch receivers purchased from etrailer.com (2008 Saturn Vue/2005 Hyundai Santa Fe). The hitch is holding up very well, with just a bit of surface rust inside the receiver, to be expected for sure.

This is a very acceptable product. We like that you can't see the steel support system of the hitch. You can only see the receiver.

We have hauled many trailer trips successfully. We just carried a mobility scooter on a carrier (see attached photo) to Florida and back with no problems.

The only reason I didn't give this this a five star review is the packaging. Parts of the hitch were exposed and the nice power coating was scratch off down too the bear metal where I will have to repaint to avoid rusting. The only other hard part of the hole instillation was cleaning the welded threaded bolt holes on the vehicle so the bolts would turn freely. Plus I added lock washers. Besides these couple of small hiccups everything lined up great and instillation went well on my 2012 Chevy Captiva Sport. Did have to lower muffler very easy, put strap around it so not to put to much stress on the front of exhaust :) 270375

Great construction, fits perfect, and all holes lined up perfect. The top of the hitch receiver sits approximately 1/4 inch below bumper, for a factory look.

Got the Curt hitch receiver on time yesterday great hitch fit like a glove. me and a friend put it on this morning in less than an hour with out jacking it up. did not have to drop the muffler like a video said. Im 65 he is 68. GREAT PRODUCT204085

Service was great and product was received fast. Packaging of hitch receiver was very poor! Placed in box with no materials inside box to keep hitch from sliding around inside box. When it arrived it had busted through the box on both sides and was sticking out! Took it out of box to make sure it was not bent. It was not but had some scratches on it. It’s a good thing this hitch is made with heavy duty steel!!1269270

When it comes to shipping hitches, it is very common for them to arrive with scratches. We recommend using a rust-oleum type paint to cover the scratchesspots. This will prevent any corrosion in the future. I have a link attached for your reference. I have also sent this over to customer service for them to reach out to you.

2008 Saturn Vue

I installed this on my 2008 Saturn Vue without incident. Cleaning out the screw holes was difficult. I think the right sized tap would have been a good investment. That's no reflection on the product though. Installation was simple, overall, and the video instructions were perfect.273261

Install was a bit tough as bolt holes didn't line up perfectly so avoiding cross threading was tough. Then the wire harness was straight forward. What I wish fit tighter was the relationship between the square hole and my ball assembly. It chuck's back and forth but maybe that's typical. It's a sturdy unit.706495

It is common for there to be some play between the ball mount and trailer hitch receiver because of manufacturing variances. There are a number of products that help remove the play between the receiver and the shank. If your ball mount has a hollow shank, the Anti-Rattle Trailer Hitch Receiver Lock # 63232 is a great option, and it doubles as a security device. If the ball mount shank is solid, the Roadmaster Quiet Hitch # RM-061 is a great option.

You can tell it is a quality made hitch. Thick powder coating, heavy duty (weighs almost 30 lbs, comes with all the necessary hardware, etc). MADE IN THE USA, so you know the welds are not going to crack. One small unfortunate aspect was that due to manufacturing tolerances stack up, it didnt fit my VUE perfectly. I had to slightly oblong (not much) a few of the holes to get all 6 bolts to line up with the weld nuts in the vehicles frame rails. I could tell it was a high grade steel by how difficult it was to drill. In the end, I am still very happy with it and my purchase. Some people say you dont have to drop your exhaust to install it. Perhaps on some other makes/models you dont, but on this one you will need to in order to get it in place and torque all the bolts properly. Dropping the exh on the VUE is easy. 7 rubber grommets and it is down on the ground up to the flex pipes which is enough to move it back and forth out of your way as you work from one side to the other getting things squared away. Took me about 10min to find all the exh hangers coming down, and 2min putting it all back up. I'd also recommend tapping your vehicles weld nuts to ensure the threads are clean and dont damage your new bolts. My needed it. Bolts would not go in without doing so. You will need an M12x1.75 tap to match the threads of the included hardware/frame weld nuts.42582

The trailer hitch was great. We used it for our bike rack. Unfortunately I sold my Saturn suv and am I need of one that fits on a Honda CRV. We we smart enough to take the hitch off before we sold it. Now we are looking for a buyer. The hitch fit a Saturn suv I haven’t looked into which other vehicles it may fit.483699

Great hitch. Installs easiest with two people but very simple to install. Cannot beat the price for the quality. Went to [that trailer rental place] to see about a hitch and was told it would need to be custom so it would start at $500. It took everything in me not to go back there after I installed etrailer's hitch myself and ask the representative you mean custom hitch installed like this?490738

2013 Chevrolet Captiva Sport

I purchased this hitch not to tow a trailer but to attach my hitch bicycle rack. Installation was easy. I had a local muffler shop, a friend works there, install the hitch took them 5 minutes, they are real professionals. Delivery of hitch was right on time. Hitch is great for my application.275670

Researched, found and ordered this trailer hitch for my 2008 saturn view. Fast delivery, box was a little torn up by the time it reached me, but that's to be expected with such a heavy product. Could have been packaged better but all parts were secure and made it. Easy installation (yes I helped with the install right in my garage no need to pay someone to do it - did need to drop exhaust though) and it fit perfect. Got this receiver primarily for a scooter platform. It was priced right and was very easy to install! The directions were very helpful when it stated to clean out the holes for the Bolts and to not tighten the bolts all the way until all 4 were started. The receiver has gotten it use! The scooter went everywhere and I was able to use a trailer when I needed to. Too bad the vehicle was totalled about 3 months ago! The receiver held up nicely!575884

This hitch receiver fit my 2013 Captiva perfectly. While the vehicle itself can't tow a lot, this does everything I need it to do. And like many other reviewers have pointed out, you only see the receiver itself, which is good.1292901

Box arrived early and a little beaten up, however that certainly wasn’t the fault of etrailer. Hitch was well secured inside the box with hardware bagged and taped insider receiver. Hitch seems well made and installed easily. All bolt holes lined up. Could be a one person job, however two people definitely made the job easier. Total install time (from getting out tools to having everything put away) was 45 minutes. Receiver is recessed about two inches under bumper and received out bike rack with no issues. This was my first purchase from etrailer and won’t be my last. 796371
