Jake: Hey guys, this is Jake here with etrailer. Today we're going to be taking a look at, and I'm going to show you how to use, the SmartStrap Retractable Tow Strap. Now what this is great for, is for your side-by-side or vehicle application of where you don't want to have a big bundle of tow strap to take care of. This is all going to be self-contained. It's going to pull out and retract all back into the single spool. Now I'll just go ahead and show you how to get it in place. So to get it in place all you have to do is attach it to the attachment point on your tow vehicle and onto the vehicle you need recovering. As you can see, we didn't pull out any more than we needed to, so now we can start pulling.
You can see as we start rolling forward, the strap is going to expand to its full length before it starts pulling. And once you have it out to the full length, the strap will lock into place and you can start pulling. When extended to its full length, the strap's going to be about 14 feet long, so you're going to have plenty of space to get that tow vehicle far enough away from the towed vehicle so that you're safe. It's going to have a 3,000 lb weight capacity, so you're going to be able to pull any of your lighter duty vehicles out of trouble. Along with that 3,000 lb safe work-load limit, it's going to have a 9,000 lb brake-strength. It's going to have these sturdy steel hooks on the end, so you can conveniently hook it into a loop on your hitch or onto a rope shackle like we have here attached to our side-by-side.
We also have these rope shackles available here at etrailer. Just check it out.The greatest feature about this tow strap is that it is retractable and you are going to be able to just unhook it. It's going to pull itself back in. The strap is going to be two inches wide and have a bright yellow color, so it's easy to see when using. You're not going to have to worry about rolling your strap up.
You're just going to be able to have it retract itself and put it wherever you like.So here are going to compare how fast the retractable tow strap is to roll up and how compact it is, compared to rolling up a standard tow strap. So here we have it at our full length, the same 14 feet that our retractable tow strap's at. We're going to roll it up. Okay. Now we'll do our retractable one.
Unhook it. Much faster. With that being said, that's going to do it for our look at the SmartStrap Retractable Tow Strap.

Durable recovery strap with steel hooks helps release a stuck vehicle. Self-retracting straps automatically wind up into the built-in housing. Webbing is bright yellow for high visibility. 9,000 lbs Max load.I recently purchased two items which in my opinion are very high quality and their functionality exceeds the majority of their competitor's products. However, the most impressive is etrailer's customer service. I had the distinct pleasure to have Susan help me; she also exceeded my expectations. I have been an eTrailer customer since 2012 and their staff have always not only met but exceeded my expectations! Without question, I recommend both etrailer products as well as the excellent customer support staff.
High quality
