2013 Volkswagen Golf - Roadmaster Standard Magnetic Tow Lights

  • Removable Tail Light Kit
  • Bypasses Vehicle Wiring
  • Magnetic Mount
  • Roadmaster
  • Universal

Avoid tapping into your towed Volkswagen Golf's electrical system by using these self-contained tow lights. Heavy-duty magnets keep lights securely in place on your towed car.

Features:

  • Allows you to legally tow your car without having to tap into its wiring
  • Eliminates risk of electrical damage to towed car
  • Attaches securely with magnets
  • Connects directly to motor home wiring, bypassing towed vehicle completely
  • Has heavy-duty vinyl casing for superior protection of wiring
  • Meets Department of Transportation standards
  • Fits all vehicles
  • Includes 2 lights and wiring harness with 4-pole flat trailer connector
  • Length of wire:
    • Wire that connects the lights: 53-1/2"
    • Wire that extends out the back of the light: 243"
    • Wire with 4-pole connector: 35-1/2"
  • Limited Lifetime Warranty

The law requires that all towed cars have functional signal and brake lights in sync with the RV towing them. Most wiring kits require you to splice into your vehicle's electrical system, but doing this can void your manufacturer's warranty. Magnetic tow lights avoid this problem by having the wiring run underneath your car and plug into your power source.

These lights have worked flawlessly for the whole 2023 camping season on my RV towed vehicle. I mount them on the rear of the roof so they are nice and high above bicycles on a hitch mounted rack.

by:

Extremely happy with the tow bar wiring. Not one problem for the year!

Jeep

They were shipped fast and arrived quickly. These are quality lights with very strong magnets. I installed them on my Jeep in no time after making some steel brackets for the tubular aluminum bumper. Would be nice to have 5 or 6 magnetic clips to place along the wire to secure it to the vehicle. I highly recommend these lights.

Timely receipt. have not installed yet. but the instructions seem simple enough.

by:
2005 Subaru Forester

I like these lights, nice strong magets hold them securely to car roof. I use them because my bikes in bags cover my tail lights. I added LED bulbs because when I tow the car with my RV these additional lights put to much load causing voltage drop and dim lights.

These lights are still working well only improvement I could suggest is if they could somehow maybe put up plastic layer between the magnets and the roof because they’re taking paint off, if they could still make the magnet is strong.

Jeep Wrangler

I purchased the Curt Tow Bar with Adjustable-Width Arms - Car Mount - 2" Ball - 5,000 lbs. initially I was Leary of the product because of its low price compared to other tow bars. I now can say my concerns were needless because after flat towing my Wrangler over 5,000 trouble-free miles I have nothing negative but only positives to report. The best thing I like about the tow At is that it only takes 5 minutes to attach and unhook.

by:

Fast delivery. Did a test as soon as I received the light kit. Flawless. Magnets very strong but safe for car finish.

by:

Heavy duty magnets gave me the security of knowing they wouldn’t come off. Very easy to install!

by:

I did a mock-up set-up and this kit works as advertised.
Magnetic bases are strong, it should fit my needs perfectly.

by:

lights look fine....

is far better than I expected....very nice. I should have gotten this sooner!!!

by:

Very simple product. Exactly what I wanted. I need to do something more permanent but this worked for our trip. The most important thing was I needed it fast and I got it in time.
Friendly and informative people on the phone were knowledgeable and new their product. I will shop here again.

  • Flat Towing Set Up for 2013 Fiat 500
I would be happy to help you set up your 2013 Fiat 500 for flat towing. You can only flat-tow your Fiat if it has a manual transmission. If you have an automatic transmission you will need the Demco Kar Kaddy X Tow Dolly w/ Disc Brakes - Tilt Bed Frame - 4,800 lbs - Wide Tread item # DM9713093. You are going to need a tow bar, base plate kit, wiring harness for lights, supplemental braking system, a battery charge line, stop light switch, and potentially a high low adapter. If you don't...

Both the Roadmaster EZ4 Base Plate Kit # RM-521448-4 and the Roadmaster EZ5 Base Plate Kit # RM-521448-5 will fit your 2010 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited if it does not have an aftermarket bumper, winch, or guards. I recommend the Roadmaster EZ4 Base Plate Kit # RM-521448-4. The Roadmaster EZ series base plates are our most popular base plates. They will fit all the Roadmaster tow bars and they have the hidden bracket design. The EZ5 series base plates will not work with tow bars that require...

To flat-tow your 1990 Mazda Miata MX-5 behind your 2001 Winnebago Brave, you will need base plates, tow bar, safety cables, vehicle wiring or lights, and a supplemental braking system. For a base plate kit, you will need Roadmaster XL Base Plate Kit, part # 711-4. The XL Base Plate Kit features removable draw bars, so when you are not towing your Miata, the base plate brackets are less visible. You could potentially install the magnetic light kit # RM-2120 in the manner you have described. However, you would need to make sure the magnetic lights wiring is connected on the tow dolly side connector for easy installation and removal. Adding more wires to the 7-Way can increase the chances of a short circuit and there may not even be room depending on the gauge of wire used on the tow dolly. If there is no room or it looks like the wires for adjacent circuits could touch, I recommend...

If trimming is something you just do not want to do, or cannot do (if the vehicle is leased for example) then the best thing to do would be to use a small car trailer to carry the vehicle.
