Roadmaster Tow Bar Braking Systems - RM62FR

  • Stop Light Switch
  • Roadmaster

Avoid damage to your vehicle by ensuring that your supplemental braking system is properly positioned and working effectively. Kit activates your RV monitoring system to alert you when the brakes of your towed car are being applied.

Features:

  • Activates motorhome brake-monitoring system whenever brake pedal in towed car is applied
    • Ensures that the supplemental braking system is functioning properly
  • Works great for any application that does not have a tow position in the ignition
  • Wires directly into towed car's fuse box for constant current
  • Made in the USA

Specs:

  • Application: custom fit for your vehicle
  • 12 Volts

This kit allows your RV's monitoring system to alert you whenever the brake pedal of your towed car is being applied. Other systems operate according to whether the air cylinder is extended and provide no indication of what is happening with the pedal itself. If your supplemental braking system is improperly installed, it may be continuously pressing on the pedal, impeding it from fully retracting and possibly causing damage to your vehicle's tires and braking system. With Roadmaster's Stop Light Switch Kit, you will always know when the brake is being depressed, and you will avoid costly damage.

This product is very easy to install and it worked the very first time. I use it to supply a ground signal to an LED indicator mounted on my motorhome dash. I can now know for sure that my supplimental braking system is doing its job.

  • Is Brake Light Switch Needed w/ Invisibrake Supplemental Braking System on 2021 Chevy TrailBlazer
It looks like you've got a good handle on what you need to flat tow your TrailBlazer. You will indeed need a stop light switch, part # RM62FR. Also, per the owner's manual, you'll need to disconnect the negative battery terminal before towing. A quick disconnect, part # RM-766 is available. The kit includes a switch that mounts in the passenger cab of the vehicle that allows you to disconnect and connect the battery remotely without needing to go into the engine compartment and disconnect...

  • Roadmaster Direct-Connect Base Plate Kit with Removable Arms for 2022 RS Trim Chevrolet TrailBlazer
The Roadmaster Direct-Connect Base Plate Kit, # RM35FR will not fit the RS model of the 2021 Chevrolet TrailBlazer. We do however have three options that are a confirmed fit for the RS model of the 2021 Chevrolet TrailBlazer. The Roadmaster Crossbar-Style Base with removable arms, # RM96VR. The Roadmaster Direct-Connect Base with removable arms, # RM46VR. And the Blue Ox Base Plate Kit, # BLU49FR. These are all confirmed fit for the 2021 models, not yet listed as such for the 2022....

  • Why Is A Stop Light Switch Kit Needed For A 2020 Buick Encore GX
The Roadmaster Stop Light Switch Kit # RM62FR is needed because the brake light switch wire of the 2020 Buick Encore GX isn't useable and this simulates the braking signal so that it can be sent out to the braking system. This allows you to see when the brakes are being applied while flat towing, which is important because you can easily verify if the brakes are activating when they shouldn't be or not activating when they need to so that you can pull over and troubleshoot the issue. A...

  • Wiring Kit To Flat Tow 2021 Chevrolet Trailblazer RS
There is a wiring kit that will allow you to flat tow your 2021 Chevy Trailblazer RS, and what you will need is a kit from Roadmaster that is compatible with your vehicle's lights: - Roadmaster Smart Diode 7-Wire to 6-Wire Wiring Kit for Variable Voltage Incandescent Tail Lights # RM26FR This is needed to ensure the taillights on your '21 TrailerBlazer don't look like the brakes are always on; since your taillights that use the same wire to power the brake lights and taillights, this...

  • Does Battery of 2022 Buick Encore GX Need to Be Disconnected in Order To Flat Tow It
If your 2022 Buick Encore GX is a FWD vehicle, it cannot be flat towed and you would need to use a tow dolly like part # RM-2050-1. If your Encore is an AWD model that's not a Sport Touring model, it can be flat towed as long as you don't exceed 70 mph. Per the owner's manual, the negative battery terminal does indeed need to be disconnected in order to tow the vehicle. This prevents the battery from being drained. The Roadmaster Automatic Battery Disconnect system, part # RM-766 would...

  • Recommended Supplemental Braking System for a 2021 Chevy TrailBlazer
We definitely have options available for your 2021 Chevrolet TrailBlazer. This will depend on if you want a portable/removeable system or a permanent system, so I am giving my recommendation for both styles. For a portable system, I recommend the Blue Ox Patriot # BLU37TR. This will have a wireless controller that plugs into a 12 volt outlet, like a cigarette lighter. To power the actual brake box in the TrailBlazer, you will need to add one of these 12 volt outlets, # RM-9332, directly...

  • Flat Towing Setup Recommendation For A 2022 Buick Encore GX
For your 2022 Buick Encore GX, you're going to need a high low adapter, a base plate, a tow bar, wiring a braking system, and safety cables. Let's start with a base plate, I recommend the Roadmaster Direct-Connect Base Plate Kit # RM32FR. This base plate creates a clean design when not in use and allow for quick connection and disconnection. Next, you'll need a tow bar. For this, I recommend the Roadmaster Falcon 2 # RM-520. This tow bar is capable of handling up to 6,000lbs, which is...

  • Why Does The Roadmaster Battery Disconnect USe The Positive Terminal Post Cable
Roadmaster released a tech bulletin about why the positive needs to be removed instead of following the vehicle's owner's manual and disconnecting the negative post cable. The reason is because if you use the disconnect on the negative side you'll lose your towed vehicle's main ground to the chassis. This means that all of the accessories that need to operate on the toad must be grounded through the connection to the motorhome which is too small of a gauge and the distance is too great...
