The PowertraxONE MX offers excellent security and protection for the items in your truck bed. This tonneau cover can withstand impacts and inclement weather, and it can perform in temperatures between -50 and 200 degrees F. It won't swell in the heat, contract in the cold, or crack in ice storms, unlike some other tonneau covers out there. When your arms are full of groceries or supplies, you can open this electric tonneau with the touch of a button for fast, easy access to your truck bed. You can also use the remote key fob to secure the cover at any point along the rails for hauling flexibility.
Electric, Retractable Operation with Key Fob
This tonneau cover retracts quickly and easily for complete truck bed access. It does this by gliding along the side rails with sealed ball-bearing rollers, which also prevent the cover from binding or retracting unevenly. The PowertraxONE MX has no joints or hinges that can wear out, freeze, or trap dirt. It does not need to be lubricated and it has no springs that can fail. Unlike other truck bed covers on the market, you won't have to struggle with pull straps, hook-and-loop fasteners, or snaps every time you open and close the cover.
Two key fobs are included so you can operate the cover with the touch of a button. The wireless remote function is great for when you're approaching your truck with your hands full and you can't reach out to manually open the cover or your tailgate. Simply press and hold the "O" button to open the cover or press and hold the "C" button to close the cover over your cargo.
You can also stop the cover at any point along the rails by simply releasing the Open and Close button. An electromagnetic brake will stop the tonneau and lock it in place. This way you can carry long items that overlap your tailgate while still covering cargo, such as a tackle box, that's stored closer to the bulkhead of the truck.
When not in use, the cover rolls up into a space-saving storage canister at the bulkhead of your truck, so you'll never have to remove the tonneau to access your cargo. This canister has a unique spiral track system that keeps the cover from coming into contact with itself while it's retracted. This helps prevent wear and tear on the cover while you're opening and closing it.
With the cover fully retracted, the entire canister assembly only takes up a small portion of your truck bed. And the angled bottom of the canister gives you more space to slide long items or small gear underneath it.
Maximum Security and Protection for Your Cargo
When the PowertraxONE MX is closed, potential thieves will find it nearly impossible to access the items in your truck bed. Only the key fobs can unlock the tonneau, and there is no way to retract or extend the cover without them.
This cover is better at preventing cargo theft than soft covers, which can be cut open with a knife. It also cannot be pried up at the edges like some hard, folding covers. As a result, your cargo and truck bed are secure when this cover is closed, as long as you lock your tailgate as well. Conveniently, the cover operates independent of the tailgate, so you can open and close the tailgate without touching the cover, and you can open and close the cover without disturbing the tailgate.
Thanks to the built-in LED light, you can also protect your cargo from prying eyes while you search the truck bed for your gear. This integrated cargo light is located on the storage canister by the driver's side. To illuminate the cargo light, simply press the light-symbol button on the key fob. Press the button again to turn off the LED. If you forget to turn off the light, a timer will automatically shut it off in 3-5 minutes, so it won't drain your battery.
To keep snow, water, and dust out of your bed, the tonneau cover includes weather stripping and foam seals. An automotive-grade weather strip ensures a firm, dependable seal along the bulkhead of your truck. Attached to the bottom of each side rail is a foam seal that conforms to the shape of your bed rails. These seals help to prevent any scratches on your bed rails as well as fill any gaps to keep your cargo from getting wet or dirty. The cover also overlaps the top of the tailgate for additional protection against intrusive dirt and debris.
Durable, Long-Lasting, and Attractive Cover
The PowertraxONE MX is constructed of a polycarbonate known as Lexan, the same material used to make bulletproof glass and jet fighter canopies. It has excellent dent and impact resistance to keep it from getting damaged by falling debris. Additionally, 5/8" thick aluminum I-beams are embedded into the polycarbonate every 4-3/4" to give the cover added strength. As a result, this cover can hold up to 200 lbs of snow or evenly distributed weight when it's rolled out.
You'll never have to worry about the cover cracking in the cold or bubbling or fading in the hot sun because it's designed to perform in temperatures from -50 and 200 F, and its hard thermoplastic is UV treated to protect it from fading. On hot summer days, Lexan is cooler to the touch than metal, so you won't get burned when accessing your gear. And on top of that, its durable matte black finish is weather and scratch resistant.
To prevent mildew from forming on the cover while it's rolled up, the PowertraxONE MX features a water management system that channels excess water out of the storage canister. Two drain tubes attach to the bottom of the canister to remove any water that gets inside. The tubes then route water through the existing drain holes in the floor of your truck bed, ensuring that the stored cover remains as dry as possible.
When rolled out, this tonneau sits nearly flush with the back of the canister to give a streamlined look. The sleek frame features a top panel that overlaps the bulkhead of the truck and storage canister, eliminating the gap in between.
The low-profile side rails mount just 1" above your truck bed, which offers a sleek look while still providing enough clearance for most 5th-wheel hitches to remain installed beneath the cover.
Simple Installation
To install the tonneau cover, begin by attaching the side rails to the canister with the provided screws.
Because the cover comes preinstalled inside of the canister, it will take 2 people to lift the assembled unit and place it on your truck. Once the cover is in position, make sure that the side rails are square on your truck bed rails. Then secure them in place with the bolt-on clamps. Install the drain tubes in the canister and route them through the factory holes in your truck bed.
Run the wiring harness up to your truck's battery per the included instructions. Then plug the truck bed end of the harness into the power connectors on the driver's side of the motorized canister. Lastly, connect the ring terminals to your truck battery for power.

Hi there, truck owners. Today, we're going to be taking a look at Retrax's PowertraxONE MX series of powered tonneau covers.This is going to be a complete set that's custom fit for your particular truck, so you want to make sure you use our fit guide to ensure you get the correct one for your vehicle. This tonneau cover is completely powered and operated using the included remotes. You'll receive two remotes that will allow you to operate the tonneau cover, whether it be opening or closing, with just the push of a button. And you can see here, it closes relatively quickly, so within a matter of seconds, you have access to your truck bed, or you can close it up to protect it against any would-be thiefs.On the inside here, since this is a powered unit, we've got power running to the canister here, and there's a light located on it, so we can turn that on and off so we can see at night. Or if we've just got the cover closed, we open up the tailgate, it's pretty dark back there, regardless of the time of day, we can get that extra light we need to see whatever items are back there.
The light is on a timer, so you don't have to worry about forgetting and accidentally leaving it on. After about three to five minutes, it will turn itself out so it won't drain down your battery.We've currently got our tonneau cover in the full open position. You can see this is nearly full truck bed access. You're only losing the space of the canister here, which is maybe about a foot. And to help minimize how much that we're losing in space here, the canister is at an angle and it doesn't go all the way down to the ground, so you aren't going to lose completely all the space here at the front, just a small section here at the top.With this cover, this is a full open position, but since it's powered, there's also a brake, an electric brake, on the inside that holds it in its current position, so you see, I can't just open it up.
It's stuck in that position. What's nice about that is if we we're to close it, maybe we had a refrigerator that we stuck back here, or maybe not a fridge, or something that was just a little bit too tall that we sat down, a box that was going across the back, we can cover up all of our items at this location while still leaving anything tall sticking up here at the back. And again, it keeps it in this position. It does have a little bit of movement, but you can't just pull it from that position. It holds it right there.And you can do this at any position.
It's not like some of the tri-fold covers where you have split sections that you can open up and you're limited to just those sections. With this one, we can stop it anywhere. Maybe we just got something that was really long and an L shape, and we just needed the little L portion to stick up here at the back, we could have it almost completely closed with just those tall parts sticking out the back. So, unlike those other tonneau covers, the versatility of the positions you can have are just about endless.And if we take a look at our tonneau cover here, we are sealed completely all the way around. At the back of our sliding section here, we do have a seal here, and when this slides back, it'll seal up against the tailgate.
At the back here, we do have seals as well at the tailgate. If we open those up, we can see the small rubber seals there. Underneath of our rails all the way along, it's hard to see now, because we've already compressed it, but there is a foam gasket that runs all the way across the side of each rail to seal that as well.And if you look at the shape of our rail, it's a little bit higher towards the center and it kind of directs the water towards the outside so it sheds off of your truck. This helps get rid of most of the water. Any water that does happen to spill into the top and make its way down the channels, which are going to direct it back to our canister, they will eventually drain out through the drain tubes located at the bottom of the canister. This directs all the water away from the things that's inside of your truck bed and out the bed, so you don't have to worry about any items getting damaged.Across the bulkhead here at the front, there's also another rubber seal that seals it up across the canister all the way across the front. And we can see here how it closes up against the back here and it pushes nice and tight, and you can see the seam all the way across is very tight up against the top of our tailgate, completely sealing it all the way around.And Retrax boasts that it has a 200 pound weight capacity on top, evenly distributed, so we're going to put that to the test here. Now I weigh a little more than 200, but she's going to be just a little . quite a bit less than 200 here, but she's definitely putting it to the test, and you can see across the top, we have very little bowing. And then she can sit upright and it handles it no problem. So, if you've got some items that are pretty heavy you need to set on top, get some things out of your truck, whatever, this cover should be able to handle it, unlike the weaker competitors.If we take a look here at the back of our truck, I've got the tonneau cover completely closed and I've opened up the lift gate and it's pretty dark back here. If you've got some items you're looking for, it can be a little hard to find. But we can turn on our light. Yeah, look there, there's the license plates that I was looking for. And the high-quality polycarbonate that's across our tonneau cover is going to be resistant against UV rays, so you don't have to worry about it drying out over time and becoming brittle and easily cracked. This is going to withstand all that, and you also don't have to worry about it fading out in the sun so it doesn't match the rest of it anymore. The resistance is really nice on it.Our rails themselves do have a black powder coat on them as well to resist against rust and corrosion. And it's kind of a textured finish, which helps it integrate very nicely into the textured kind of black plastic that a lot of your trucks have for their bed rails.Another thing I like about this cover is that your tailgate, you can open and close it in any position. If you've got it fully closed, it's as simple as closing the tailgate. If your tailgate's closed, you can still fully open and close your tonneau cover. Some other competitors out there require you to pop the tonneau cover before closing the tailgate, or they require the tailgate to be up before you can put the tonneau cover down. This one, any position, so you don't have to think about it. You can just get what you need and move on with your business.I've worked with a lot of tonneau covers here at etrailer, and I will say this is a very premium tonneau cover. There's a lot of other economical options out there that I think are going to be better for people who are doing a lot of work with their truck. But if you're looking for something that's going to give you the most versatility and is going to look the best on your truck, this is definitely a pretty sweet option. The low profile of it and the way it looks is just fantastic. I like the way that it sits so clean, and just looks like it was integrated and it belongs on this truck. I like the color.And I was surprised at the support. When you feel it, it doesn't feel like it's going to be able to hold 200 pounds, but we did kind of put it to the test, and it surprised me in how strong this cover is. It does feel like it's a product that's going to last for quite some time down the road.The only thing that I really didn't like about it is I was looking for a manual operation of the cover, and I didn't quite see that there was a way to manually operate it. It looks like you are limited to the power functions of it. For the most part, that's not a big deal, but if you are stuck out somewhere and your truck battery died and you need to open it up, you're going to have to get a jump to do so.And that completes our look at Retrax's PowertraxONE MX series tonneau covers..

Super good product. It was easy to install and came with all the hardware. The remote is really good for closing or opening it from the cab while driving if it starts raining. Travels smooth inside the rails. Nice drainage system for rain and car washes. The seals are good. No water in the bed ever. Covers my expensive 5th wheel hitch from dirt and moisture. I like the poweder coated finish. The motor drives the cover back and forth easily. The rigid cover has seen hail and it just bounces off. No marks, dents or dings. Awesome product for truck bed protection.
