Today we are going to take a look at the Polk Audio 4 Channel Class D Power Amplifier. This Polk marine certified power amplifier is capable of bridging two full-range channels into a single full-range channel with higher output power. For instance, the front channels, left and right, when wired correctly will increase the output power from 125 watts per channel to 400 watts per channel for a 4 Ohm load. The same thing can be done for the rear channels. This is a super efficient class D design. It runs much cooler than conventional amps. It has the high speed, MOSFET switching power supply.
The protection on this is thermal DC ofset, reverse DC voltage and short-circuit protection. It does have front and rear level controls so you can adjust the gain of the front and rear channels to match the output voltage from your head unit. It has low pass and high pass frequency controls which will enable you to to adust crossover overlap for better blending of your speakers. It has front and rear BPF, full, and HPS switches so you can select a full range high pass filter or band pass filter to dial in your speaker blending. It uses a channel mode switch, four channel or stereo, and in the stereo position the amplifier sends the same signal to the front and rear channels. It does use nickel plated wire terminals and RCA connectors to ensure maximum signal transfer. It does use stainless steel hardware throughout the amplifier, so it will not corrode in humid environments.
This part includes everything shown here on the table. The amplifier, stainless steel mounting hardware, and a nice owner's manual describes how this operates. Total weight on this amplifier is about five pounds. To just give you some dimensions the width on this is about 10-15/16". Total depth on it is going to be 6-3/4", and the total height is 1-13/16". That should do it for the review on the Polk Audio 4 Channel Class D Power Amplifier..
