Today we're going to be taking a look at the round crossbar for Yakima Roof Rack Systems. This multipurpose crossbar is going to supply the backbone for your after market roof rack system. As you can see, it's a round design. The round design fits all Yakima towers. Towers are sold separately and can be found here at etrailer.com. The bar provides stability to your roof mounted racks and allows you to carry the accessories that secure your gear.
The round bar roof rack system is going to be great for bike racks, water sport carriers, roof baskets, and boxes, and much more. The round style bar will accept accessories that clamp or strap around the bar. It's constructed of a vinyl coated, galvanized, steel. The bar itself is very strong and durable, as well as rust and erosion resistant. That nice vinyl coating provides slip resistance for your gear and keeps the bar protected. One bar is included.
The diameter is one and one eighth of an inch with a steel wall thickness of .085 inches. At etrailer.com we offer the bar in a variety of lengths to best fit your particular application. A single bar is available in a 48 inch, 58 inch, 66 inch, and 78 inch length. It's going to be covered with a lifetime warranty. Please note that the cross bars do not include the end caps.
The end caps are going to be included with the rack towers. End caps are also sold separately with part number Y8007026 at etrailer.com. That's going to do it for today's look at the round crossbar for Yakima Roof Rack Systems.

I ordered my items by phone from Vince and he was great to work with. I normally just order things online, but I could find no way to order just 2 Q-Towers and 1 Crossbar. I have ordered things from etrailer before and have always been very satisfied with their service and prices. Yakima makes great products and in my application, I thought that the round bar from Yakima would work better than the square bar from Thule.

Needed just one of these bars; this was the only site that I could find that sells one (everyone else sells them as a pair). It's exactly what I expected. 66" was the perfect width for my Ford F-150 cab. I also need to purchase round bar adapters to attach it to my Yakima towers.

etrailer is excellent...however, not too pleased with Yakima and these cross bars - second set in four years...they make them out of a steel that rusts quickly...better out of stainless or aluminum. Maybe that is their idea of planned obsolescence. I also learned not to install end caps...that accelerated the corrosive process.

I have used Yakima products for decads, after two decades I got a new vehicle and I needed a wider set of bars. After two decades the products are still relatively easy to install, and fit tight and secure to my vehicle. Do take care to pay attention to the installation instructions and follow the recommended measurements very closely and the installation will go smoothly.

Free delivery that showed up in 3 days!!! Can't beat it. The crossbars with the Control Towers and LandingPad 9 fit perfectly on my Honda Element. Had them installed in about 30 mins. Don't have my cargo box yet and wanted to test strength, so I had my 110lb wife standing on them with no issues (yes, the car was parked). Plan to take a long camping trip next week with a cargo box on top...wife will be in the vehicle:-)

I ordered the Yakima roof rack, with the Hullyrollers for the back crossbar and the Mako saddles for the front crossbar to use with my kayak. It arrived just like they told me and I put them on my car the eveningit arrived. Got to finlly use the roof rack on June 22 to go out kayaking and it worked great. Only thing is I did not know about the air reflector piece for the front crossbar. Now I will be ordering it to help with the wind noise.

Great rack, go on fast, easy to install and work well on my VW TDI wagon. Care has to be given and follow the instructions for the install to what type of rails you have. Works great carrying the VW luggage carrier and plan on using it to carry kayaks as well. Just have not decided what kayak rack type to get yet.

The Yakima roof rack system is an Outstanding product. I purchased the product to replace the OEM roof rack because it was too flimsy to carry the tandem bike mount and my bike. The Yakima roof rack is solid and provides me the peace of mind while hauling my bike on the roof of my car. etrailer provided the product for the best price as always.

I've attachec a few pictures of the Yakima rack on my Audi Q7. It took a few attempts to find the right combination of attachments, but in the end, the pin attachments work best with the access points on the factory flush-mount rails. Great product!!!!!

roof racks showed up in great condition, and showed up as one package.... I should have ordered the J racks from here but I found them cheaper locally so Thule J racks compliment the whole setup and i am just about ready to hit the water :)

Have been rocking my Yakima rack from etrailer.com for a year now. I am using rack in conjunction with a Tepui tent. Once I added the air deflector, I would say it's the perfect setup. The Yakima gives more clearance over the factory rack, so I was able to get my hands under it to secure the tent hardware. If you're thinking of upgrading your factory rack, I would not hesitate to use etrailer.com
