Hello everybody, this is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today we're gonna take a look at this Yakima 78-inch-long aluminum HD crossbar. It's for a quantity of one. Now this is a heavy-duty crossbar that'll replace a damaged crossbar, or you can add another crossbar to your existing truck bed rack, or roof rack. This will pair with the Yakima truck bed towers or the roof rack towers and fit kit that we do sell separately. It is a full length design, so it does maximize space for carriers and accessories and it is a very versatile crossbar.
It accommodates accessories that mount in the T-slots or clamp around the bars and those accessories can be mounted in either the top or the bottom channel. And just to show you what we're talking about, I'm gonna zoom in here and you can see, here's the top channel, has a rubber strip in it. This rubberized strip in the top channel'll reduce any wind noise and drag, helps keep dirt and grime out of your crossbar. You can just, by pulling that up there, you can see the channel in there, and then you can put your strip right back in there all the way. It'll also provide cushioning and slip resistance for your cargo.
Now the bottom channel, which is gonna be right there on the bottom, this will allow for a nice easy installation on your Yakima truck bed rack towers. They do also sell an SL adapter which is part number Y03541. It is listed on this product page as a related product and that'll allow the bar to work with the BaseLine, the TimberLine, the SkyLine, and the RidgeLine towers. Also, if you can look closely, if I can turn this just the right way, you might be able to see, along here you can see some measurements. Those are etched measurements on the bottom of the bar.
Helps you center the rack on your vehicle. The end caps on each end, they are plastic end caps that help keep water and debris out of the bar. And you can also use 'em as integrated tie-down points, make it easy to secure your gear to. Now this bar is a heavy-duty yet lightweight aluminum bar. It's durable and rustproof.
It is a quantity of one crossbar. Now the weight capacity on this crossbar is 500 pounds, but we do always recommend to check the vehicle's roof capacity and you'll use the lesser amount for the capacity. Dimensions, again, total length on this bar is 78 inches long. It's 3 inches wide and 1 1/2 inches tall. But that should do it for the review on the Yakima 78-inch-long aluminum HD crossbar.

Includes 1 HD crossbar, 2 endcaps, and rubber strip for top channel.I ordered the Yakima roof rack for a 2019 Hyundai Ioniq. I went with the heavy duty one for extra strength but it is quite a bit thicker, likely increasing wind noise. So I might have chosen the aerodynamic lighter weight one if I was to do it again. Also, I needed to get larger bolts for my kayak holder to get around the crossbar. The instructions and video on website were very helpful but they did not explain well how to adjust the toe and pitch. For the toe adjustment, you have to push the metal post with the tool before tightening. That was not obvious. For the pitch, it helped to do that once the towers are attached to crossbar. Then you can tilt tower while cross bar is laying flat (upside down). I ended up having to add tilt on both front and back crossbars for them to be flat when installed. Website said only front one would need to be pitched. I am very pleased with the look and sturdiness of the product. My Hyundai Dealer had zero options for this car.
We purchased the rack 5 weeks in advance of our up and coming trip. (Rack is amazing FYI). However, The website states free shipping over a certain amount. Weeks went by with notifications nothing was sent and the order kept being pushed back.
Once I called I was told those who chose to purchase shipping vs opting for the free shipping got their orders firsts; everyone else fell to the bottom. After waiting a month for “free shipping” I opted to have paid shipping and I received the rack within days.
While this company has many products I could use, I refuse to use them again because what is advertised is NOT what they ethically hold themselves accountable too.

The Yakima HD Crossbars are very light yet sturdy. With the proper adapters and mounts, this will make a nice cargo setup.
Yakima OverHaul HD is built tough, sturdy, light but heave duty, well designed, easy to install and remove by leaving the locking base on the track. The height can be adjusted easily to a desired height to fit just right. The "bonus" is a beer bottle opener on each rail :)

These aerodynamic racks are strong and quiet and work perfectly with the adjustable supports. The T-slots allow several accessory items to be installed bith above and below the crossbars. Love them.
My local vendor here in Hawaii had everything I needed for my rack install except 2 pairs of the Yakima HD Crossbars. Due to supply chain issues, it was unknown when the would come in. etrailer to the rescue. HD bars we’re in stock. Site navigation, price, checkout, and shipping were excellent. While putting the roof racks together, one needs to pay close attention to the detailed instructions; but, so far, the equipment is working well with a good fit on my Toyota highlander—I’ve traveled some 1000 miles so far.

These Yakima crossbars are very HD, just what I was looking for. The Small size was hard to locate but etrailer had them in stock and delivered in short order. Instillation was quick and straight forward.
