Speaker 1: Today on our 2018 Nissan Rogue we're going to be doing a test fit on the Yakima RoundBar Roof Rack System using part numbers Y00408 for the 48 inch round crossbars, part number Y03536 for the RoundBar Adapters, and part number Y00147 for the TimberLine Towers for raised factory side rails. This Yakima entry level roof rack system is going to allow you to carry roof mounted accessories on your Rogue, accessories like bike racks, cargo baskets, cargo boxes, and much more.It uses traditional round bars, as opposed to Yakima's JetStream or CoreBars. It's not going to be as aerodynamic or as quiet, but you can pick up a fairing if wind noise and drag is a concern. It's a plastic coated steel bar that will allow you to carry clamp on accessories. The RoundBars are held in place with the TimberLine Towers, which are specifically designed to work with raised rails. They feature a rubber-coated stainless steel strap so they won't harm or scratch any finish.
They have covers that conceal our hardware so it can't be tampered with. And you can upgrade the covers to carry a Yakima locking core. You can pick up four with part number Y07204.This roof rack system has a weight capacity of 220 pounds, though you'll want to be sure and check with your Rogue's owners manual to see if the roof can carry that much. It also features a limited lifetime warranty. Now I'll give you some clearance measurements.
From the top of the Rogue to the underside of the RoundBar is about two and a half inches. From the top of the Rogue to the top of the RoundBar is about three and three quarters of an inch.Now that we've gone over the features I'll go ahead and show you how to get it installed. We've already got the front one installed on our Nissan Rogue. The rear one installs the same way. Let's go ahead and show you how we did that.
I've got one foot pack installed on my RoundBar. Let's do the other side together. To begin we'll first grab our foot pack and then we'll grab the plastic RoundBar adapter and we're gonna fit it into the open slot on top. And it should click into place just like that. Then we'll take the metal RoundBar adapter and we're gonna set it in place here on top.
We'll hold it in place with one finger then we'll flip the whole thing over. We'll undo our strap and we're gonna push it all the way forward until the bolt comes out the other end. Then you want to grab you include tool, go down through the hole, and begin tightening up the bolt.And what this is gonna do is it's gonna connect that RoundBar metal adapter to the plastic adapter. Now once it gets tight the unique thing about our tool is it has an integrated torquing device and we're gonna be listening for a few clicks. That's when we know it's properly torqued. Now you're ready to install it on your RoundBar. Now ordinarily this would be the time where you could put on your end cap, but it's a tight fit. So, for demonstration purposes we will not be putting that in place. Now we're ready to set it in place on our Rogue. We'll want to be sure that our straps are undone on both sides. Now you can position this anywhere along your race rails you'd like. You'll just want to be sure you have it set up to where it's gonna work best with your accessories. We're gonna set ours in place. We want to be sure that the strap goes underneath the raised rail on both sides.Now we want to make sure that our bars are parallel. So, we can take a tape measurer. I'm gonna measure center on center, select my width, and then I'm gonna make sure it's the same on both sides. Now before we connect our strap we want to make sure that our foot pack is setting on our raised rail correctly. In the center of the foot pack there's a little indicator. Just make sure that that's lined up with the center of your raised rail. Then we can connect our strap and take our included tool and start tightening up that strap. And just like before we're gonna be listening for a few clicks. With our foot pack tightened down we'll want to measure out our bar overhang. So, we can take a measurement from our foot pack out to the edge of the round bar. Now I already know I need to come a little bit this way. So, we can just adjust it out, take another measurement, and then measure the other side.With the overhang set we can take our tool again and tighten down the bolt here in the center. And, again, a few clicks on the tool. This will lock our bars in place. We repeat that process on the other side. Then we can put on our covers and we're all set. With everything installed we're ready to load up our favorite accessories and hit the road. And that's gonna complete our test fit on the Yakima RoundBar roof rack system for our 2018 Nissan Rogue.

I ordered the Yakima roof rack, with the Hullyrollers for the back crossbar and the Mako saddles for the front crossbar to use with my kayak. It arrived just like they told me and I put them on my car the eveningit arrived. Got to finlly use the roof rack on June 22 to go out kayaking and it worked great. Only thing is I did not know about the air reflector piece for the front crossbar. Now I will be ordering it to help with the wind noise.
Great rack, go on fast, easy to install and work well on my VW TDI wagon. Care has to be given and follow the instructions for the install to what type of rails you have. Works great carrying the VW luggage carrier and plan on using it to carry kayaks as well. Just have not decided what kayak rack type to get yet.
I've attachec a few pictures of the Yakima rack on my Audi Q7. It took a few attempts to find the right combination of attachments, but in the end, the pin attachments work best with the access points on the factory flush-mount rails. Great product!!!!!

roof racks showed up in great condition, and showed up as one package.... I should have ordered the J racks from here but I found them cheaper locally so Thule J racks compliment the whole setup and i am just about ready to hit the water :)
The installation of this rack system went very well, all of the instructions were easy to read and use. I have attached some pictures of our installation. The vehicle is a 1994 Honda Accord EX four door sedan

We got a Yakima Roof Rack system with locks and fairing for a "lime squeeze metallic" (Green...) 2011 Ford Fiesta 5dr Hatchback. Received the package yesterday and set it up within about an hour.
I have been using Yakima racks for around 40 years and have never had any problems. However, I am amazed at the price increases over the years. Etrailer prices were by far lower than most. Overall, a very excellent purchase.
Have been rocking my Yakima rack from etrailer.com for a year now. I am using rack in conjunction with a Tepui tent. Once I added the air deflector, I would say it's the perfect setup. The Yakima gives more clearance over the factory rack, so I was able to get my hands under it to secure the tent hardware. If you're thinking of upgrading your factory rack, I would not hesitate to use etrailer.com
Kit worked perfectly on my 2021 Subaru Forester. The whole install took 30 minutes. Never been disappointed with etrailer.
The Yakima roof rack system is an Outstanding product. I purchased the product to replace the OEM roof rack because it was too flimsy to carry the tandem bike mount and my bike. The Yakima roof rack is solid and provides me the peace of mind while hauling my bike on the roof of my car. etrailer provided the product for the best price as always.
Bought as a pkg for my 2017 Golf R with Round Bars since I had a bunch of Yakima bike racks and a canoe gunwale rack for my old Yakima set up. Installation was easy with good instructions. All measurements from the Yakima site appear to be spot on.
etrailer.com shipped these out quickly and all parts arrived without damage.
etrailer is excellent...however, not too pleased with Yakima and these cross bars - second set in four years...they make them out of a steel that rusts quickly...better out of stainless or aluminum. Maybe that is their idea of planned obsolescence. I also learned not to install end caps...that accelerated the corrosive process.
Haven’t used them yet but they should work as expected
