Video Transcript for Yakima Roof Bike Racks Review - 2018 Dodge Charger

Speaker 1: Today on our 2018 Dodge Charger we're doing a test fit of the Yakima high speed roof mounted bike rack. That part number is Y02115. We already have our bike secured down. I first wanted to show you how we secure it in place. Starting at the back, we're going to have a cam buckle on our rear tire. This is quick and easy to remove; we'll simply push on the cam at the top and pull our strap through.

A great thing about our rear strap is that it is going to be adjustable up and down the length of our bike rack. At the front here we're going to have a skewer. This is going to fit in between our through axle mounts. This is a through axle bike rack. To loosen our skewer we need to open up our leverage here on the side, then we can loosen and tighten it using our notch on the other side. We'll take that off, and then we can show you how to tighten that skewer.

Just behind where the skewer is mounted, this is actually going to loosen and tighten our two wedges up here. Rotating it will loosen and tighten this wedge, and allow us to adjust through axle sizes and our wedge as well. Now we'll take a look back here at how our bike rack is secured down. Starting off, we're going to have one strap. This portion does have an option to lock, but we'll just slide it back for now and we'll lift up on this lever.

This is where our strap attaches. On the inside you'll see our bolt. This bolt loosens and tightens to give us a nice secure fit with our strap. Once completely tight, we'll close that up and slide the cover over top.At the front we're going to have the same thing; we'll just have two straps, one on each side. Again, slide the cover back, open up the lever, you'll see our bolt in there that loosens and tightens.

Snap it tight, close it up, and lock it into place. A great thing about these straps is that they are gonna fit around a lot of different styles of crossbars, like our Arrow ones we keep here. inaudible 00:02:16 a round, square, elliptical, and most factory. So that's gonna be our complete look at the Yakima high speed roof bike rack, part number Y02115 on our 2018 Dodge Charger. Speaker 2: Here on our test course we'll start by going through the inaudible 00:02:33. This is going to show us the side to side action. This simulates turning corners or evasively maneuvering. Once we get to the full speed bumps we'll see the up and down action. This'll be just like driving out of a parking lot, parking garage, or driveway. Once we get to the alternating speed bumps, we'll see the twisting action. This will simulate hitting a curb or pothole, or driving over uneven pavement.
