Hi everyone, it's Evangeline here at etrailer. And today we'll be taking a look at how the SeaSucker Talon bike rack fits on the 2015 Hyundai Veloster. Check out our full demo and review if you want a full in-depth look at how the SeaSucker Talon works. Today we're gonna talk about the peculiarities of the Hyundai Veloster, and how to make this bike rack fit best for your vehicle. This is a nice fit because of how low to the ground the vehicle is making it easier to load your bikes on there. But you also have to think about things like you can't open up your hatch or open up your windows.
Let's start. Notice the placement of our rack. I have it as far towards the passenger side for ease of loading and as far forward as I can get. The cups are a little too big to place on the front windshield or the roof, so we have it on top of our window here. Just make sure you don't open it up while you're driving and while the bike is loaded.
For the rear cup, you can put it wherever you want depending on the wheel base of your bike. Unfortunately, this whole gap is part of your hatch, so you do lose your hatch access with this loaded. All that combined makes for a strong and sturdy fit on top of your car that makes it easier for you to load and unload your bikes. Remember, you have a 45 pound maximum weight capacity per bike. You can get multiples of these racks.
You just need to make sure you get enough adapters or the correct adapters for your through axles or your quick release skewer. Now the SeaSuckers cannot be locked. You are gonna have to get a separate lock for security. So you have some options. SeaSucker has a window lock or a trunk lock.
I am not a big fan of those just because the window lock is a metal bracket on your glass window. I like to use the Thule locking straps, which are just wrap around the bike and I throw the end of the strap inside the door and I just close the door on it. So whichever way that's something worth considering. When you are parked, you can easily take these off and put them into your vehicle. So your Hyundai Veloster has a lot of quirks, but it's nice to know that the SeaSuckers Talon works with those quirks. Now you do lose some functionality like you can't open up your hatch, you can't open up your window, but you are able to carry around bikes. And since this is a vehicle that's really tricky to get a hitch or a roof rack on this might be one of your only options. Now if you wanna carry around more than one bike, you can take a look at multiple of the SeaSucker Talons or even getting the mini bomber or bomber that SeaSucker offers for multi bike carry. And that there was a look at how the SeaSucker Talon or SeaSucker Talon Max bike rack fits on the 2015 Hyundai Veloster.
