Today we're going to take a look at the Buyers Products 30 ton heavy duty swivel type pintle hook. Now this 30 ton heavy duty swivel type pintle hook will feature . You can see the swivel action, and that's to help reduce stress on any of your towing mechanisms and it allows for off-road and uneven terrain towing. The swivel action allows for travel over any curbs and rough or broken terrain, and if it is used for off-road use the load should be reduced by about 25%.This hook is ideal for heavy-duty construction utility equipment and highway construction towing purposes with towing loads up to 60,000 pounds. I'll see if I can spin this around to the back so you can see actually how it installs. See there's a nut here with a cotter pin in it and two bolts over here.
So once this is installed you can see how it actually allows the pin to swivel.It is a strong forged steel construction. It's a block type pintle hook. It has a nice powder coat finish. It does use this tethered snapper pin here up the top to lock the pintle hook in place, so all you have to do when you go to hook up is just pop the clip on the pin and then remove the snapper pin and it'll slide right out. You can see it's tethered, so you won't lose it.Then this handle right here ...
If you just pull up on this handle and then raise it up, you can raise the top latch open, and now you're ready to hook up to your new net ring. Once it's all hooked up, all you have to do is pull up on the handle and it'll slam back down, lock into place, and then for safety purposes slide your pin back through, snap it, and then you're all locked, ready to go.Again, the maximum gross trailer weight capacity on this 60,000 pounds, maximum tongue weight capacity is 12,000 pounds, and the pintle hook opening diameter right here . I believe this product is mislabeled or I received the wrong product. I installed this on a custom bumper i made specifically for this hitch and when i backed up to my trailer it would not fit over a 2.5 inch lunette ring. the add clearly states compatible with both 2 1/2 or 3 inch rings. i will be returning this.

The width and height of the opening where the lunette ring would go is 2 inches. To give you an idea of what this can fit, item # T1613700 is a 3 inch lunette ring with a ring thickness diameter of 1 & 5 eighths of an inch. This would fit into this 2 inch diameter opening.
