Today we're going to be taking a look at part number AUT-AIRW-C, this is the US Air Force trailer hitch cover, from Automotive Gold Hitch Covers. It's going to feature the officially licensed US Air Force symbol. The hitch cover is designed to slide in to your two inch by two inch hitch, and it's going to help keep out dirt, and prevent rust, as well as add that nice, clean finished look to your hitch. Here on the front face we're going to have the 3D ABS plastic emblem. Really pops out to attract the eye. That's going to be chrome plated, so it's going to add a nice classic style.
It's also going to feature UV resistant black paint detailing. That emblem's going to sit on a polished stainless steel base, so it's going to give a mirror like shine. The base and the sleeve, or the shank, is going to made from stainless steel. It's going to be highly resistant towards rusting, corrosion. We're going to have the one piece riveted construction, so no assembly's required. It's going to come fully assembled out of the box, and ready to be installed.
The only thing that you're going to need to provide separately, is going to be the hedge pin and clip, or hedge pin and lock, to secure it in your hitch. It's going to use the standard five eighth inch pin. This is designed for two inch by two inch trailer hitch receivers. We take a measurement of the sleeve length, that's going to give us a measurement of about three and a half inches. Now you can see here that it kind of has three different pinholes to choose from, that way you can chose whatever ones going to work best for your application.
Measuring from the back of that front face plate, to the center of that pinhole's going to be about one and eleven sixteenths of an inch, to center pinhole's going to be about two and three sixteenths of an inch, and to the center of that rear most pinhole, that's going to be about two and eleven sixteenths of an inch. The product is made in the USA, and it's going to be covered with a lifetime warranty. I want to go ahead and show you how it installs. Really simple insulation process. All you have to do is, take the hitch cover, feed it into your two inch by two inch opening. You're going to push it all the way in, until you get your pinholes to line up.
Now, again, you have three different pinholes to chose from, so you can chose what ever one is going to work best for your application. Now once you have that secured in there, or once you have it set in place, you'll finish securing it using your hitch pin and clip. It's going to go all the way through there, secure it on the other side with a clip, or a lock, whatever it is that you have. With a locking pin this one should stay put. Makes a nice little enhancement to my vehicle and shows pride in having served our country. Glad it arrived in time for display this "Veterans Day".

One wonders why all covers made for 1 1/4" with and adapter for 2" so there would be no need for 2 sizes. I attached it to my E Trailer hitch on my Corvette. Yes a tow hitch on a Corvette for bike rack.
I have not yet received the product....says it was delivered - bit no where to be found
This is the second time I have purchased a trailer hitch from this company. I only had to replace this product because I was rear ended a few weeks ago by another driver. The tow bar took all the damage and while it had to be replaced, it protected the back of my jeep from further impact.
