Today, we're going to be taking a look at this US Air Force 2-inch hitch cover from AMG. The hitch cover's going to allow you to display the official symbol of the United States Air Force. It's also going to help add a clean, finished look to your vehicle, and it's going to keep dirt and grime out of your hitch. Now, the hitch cover's going to be made from a steel construction. It's going to feature a really nice black powder-coat finish for rust and corrosion protection. Here on the front face, we're going to have a chrome-plated metal emblem.
It's going to feature a rust-proof and fade-proof design, and it is American-made. On the back side, we're going to have a foam gasket. This is going to help reduce rattle in between the hitch and the hitch cover. Again, this is an officially-licensed product. The hitch cover does require a hitch pin and clip or a hitch pin and lock for a complete installation to the hitch. Those items are sold separately.
If you are in need of one, you can find them right here at etrailer.com. The pin hole on this hitch cover will accept a standard 5/8-inch diameter pin. I'm going to go over a few measurements real quick starting with the hitch cover face. The overall width is about 5 inches. The overall height, it's going to be about 3-1/2 inches. The distance that we have from the back of that foam pad to the center of the hitch pin hole looks to be around 2-1/2 inches, and again, this is designed for a 2-inch by 2-inch trailer hitch.
A very simple installation. This portion here slides into the receiver tube opening. Push it until your pin holes line up with one another, and then install the hitch pin and clip or hitch pin and lock to secure it to the hitch. For the price I expected better quality. The powder coating seems to be okay. However, there are pits in the chrome plating of the USAF logo. The pits are not noticeable at a distance, so I didn't return it. Now, as an afterthought, I'm hoping it doesn't rust. Apparently there's not a standard distance to the pin hole in 2" receivers. I had to add 1/2 inch of gasket material in addition to the gasket provided to stabilize the cover in my receiver.
I ordered this Hitch Receiver Cover for my daughter, who is a veteran. It arrived in good shape, wrapped several times. It looks great!
We are so proud of her service in the U.S. Air Force.
I plan to give it to her for Christmas this year.

After one year the USAF hitch cover looks just like new and I get severa compliments on it. I would defintily recommend this company and its products. Great company to do business with
The Air Force logo was crooked, the item doesn’t seem to fit tight. A quarter of the stem is not flush with the trailer hitch. It’s loose and wiggles and I had to put a seal around the inside of the cover to stop it from moving. The pin is fine and fits well.
I got this for my husband to put on his new truck to replace the one he had before. He loved it! It was easy to put on and he has gotten compliments on it. Being prior Air Force, he loves he can still have that connection to the military.
I purchased this for my husband's birthday. He LOVED IT. He was a very proud veteran. It is still in perfect condition. Unfortunately, he passed shortly after his birthday. The hitch cover will always be on our vehicles in his memory!
I purchased this because I recently retired from the Airforce. When I received the item it had numerous scratches on it. Instead of waiting to send back and get another I just went to Autozone and bought some touch up paint for it. It adds a great look to my truck but having to pay for something that should’ve been done is not that reassuring. Maybe I just got a bad one. Good luck.
This product does exactly what it intended to do. It looks brand new after a year in the elements, it goes on and off very easily, and it shows the military service that I spent 5 years with as a young man.

It was great, but after the winter snow and ice, the lock was so badly carrroded I had to bring it to a lock shop and he was able to unlock it.
