This is a custom fit part that is designed to fit the 2011 and newer Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra 2500 and 3500 trucks without the factory rail kit. And on a custom fit part I always like to recommend for you to go to our website, use our fit guide, put in your year and model vehicle and it'll show you if this will work for your application.This a heavy-duty above bed hitch, that'll let you tow your Gooseneck trailer. It does use a fold down ball design to provide full truck bed access of your truck bed. Basically if you just pull up on the door right here, near the hitch ball, pivot the ball down, close the door over the folded ball, you have full truck bed access when you're not towing.The ring they use on this door is a nice over size ring so it does let raise or lower it even if you're wearing thick work gloves. If you're gonna go tow the Gooseneck, then you just pull open the door again, the ball pops open, position the ball upright, fold the door all the way down, and that'll secure the ball in place for towing.I wanted to show you on the side here, it might be hard to see that right here theirs a grease inaudible 00:01:07 that's built into the hitch ball so it makes it easily accessible on the side of the ball to be able to pump grease in there and lubricate the hitch ball.The balls a heat treated, chrome hitch ball.
It's sturdy and durable. You can see it has a round design with a round shank on the ball that provides a tighter fit than the square design. Helps reduce rattle, boost durability, when you let the ball down you can see it won't move at all.On the back here or actually on the front, because your vehicle will be up this way, you actually will have spring loaded safety chain hook-ups that are built-in. Basically you just pull up on them, put your safety chains in there. And then when you release your safety chain from there, the U-Bolt will automatically drop back down.
It's spring loaded.The hitch and the install kit, is all a black powder coated steel to resist corrosion. It's a very simple installation. It comes with all-of the included custom mounted kit, all the hardware you need, a nice set of detailed instructions. And it is a bolt on installation. There's no welding required.It also includes some spacer shims to help keep your truck bed corrugation from collapsing.
A few specs on this, the gross towing weight capacity is 25,000 pounds. Vertical load limit is 6,250 pounds, and the ball size to use is a standard 2-5/16 Diameter Gooseneck ball size.Then again to show you right now, you see it's in the towing. Hook your Gooseneck up and you're ready to go. If you pull open the door, the ball will drop down. Solid built! Ball moves much better than I expected. Install takes some focus and the right tools but overall the manufactures guides and support provided from etrailer covered everything.
This unit sits back over the axle much better than the hidden hitch style does. Yes, you can see it but if you have any concern about your trailer getting into your cab this unit gives you some critical inches. Wouldn't hesitate to purchase another in the future.
etrailer does not have free returns, one year later this is still sitting in the box. I will never buy from etrailer again.

Bought this drawtite gooseneck hitch for my 2007 Dodge 2500 to pull and 8000lb horse trailer. Love it! It's simple design, easy to install, and "no profile" when folded down not in use. Caution if this is your first install - be VERY careful taking measurements to cut the hole in bed, you only get one chance to get it right. Totally recommend. Great price.
No issues with it's intended use. Works great. Installation a little tricky and directions somewhat lacking in the detail department. Took considerably longer than I anticipated. Once in, works great.
Product shipped fast and was even delivered a day early. Quality is excellent. Ordering was easy. I ordered both the gooseneck hitch and rail kit. Price on this site was $160 less than everywhere else. The description said that a template came included for where to cut out the bed, which it did, but there was no indicator on exactly where to set the teplate from the front or rear of bed. Which makes it complicated. but all in all I am pleased with my product and service.

I ordered a gooseneck hitch late Thursday evening and it arrived the next Monday, as estimated by the salesman. I'm very well pleased with the product, the ease of installation, and the professional-courteous service I received.
I am impressed with the service that I received. The hitch and installation brackets arrived within 4 days of when I ordered them. The quality of the hitch and materials is exactly as depicted on the website. After reading the installation instructions, installing the hitch should be a fairly simple project. The only problem I see is that I will have to drill one hole on each side frame but since I haven't installed it yet I don't know how easy it will be. I will follow up once I have it installed

The product is awesome ! But there should be option for the 5 inch extention, instead of the ball ,which you need if you have a F150 5.5 box. now I have a ball that is useless. Would be awesome if I could return just the ball!

Good price, fast shipping, was really easy to put in, had to use my cherry picker to lift the backend off of the suspension to make it easier but it wasn't bad. Only thing that worries me is the 2 pieces that mount to the side of the frame only have 2 bolts per side, I drilled 2 more holes in the frame and added 2 more bolts to each side. There is 5 holes on the kit per side, but only 2 holes on my frame. Maybe thats enough but I added some to be safe.
Perfect perfect fit a friend of mine put it in for me he said that it was easy to put in a great fit now I pull a two horse trailer with a dressing room so it's more than adequate and strength for it thank you very much

Realized I would not find time to install this product in a timely manner. Passed it on to my mechanic, he got it installed in a couple hours. Worked great on our first two trips, anticipate no problems. Great service from Dana, she answered all of my questions, was efficient and a pleasure with which to talk.
