Roadmaster Flat Tow Brake System - RM-751475

  • Stop Light Switch
  • Roadmaster

Avoid damage to your vehicle by ensuring that your supplemental braking system is properly positioned and working effectively. Kit activates your RV monitoring system to alert you when the brakes of your towed car are being applied.

Features:

  • Activates motorhome brake-monitoring system whenever brake pedal in towed car is applied
    • Ensures that the supplemental braking system is functioning properly
  • Works great for any application that does not have a tow position in the ignition
  • Wires directly into towed car's fuse box for constant current
  • Made in the USA

Specs:

  • 12 Volts
  • Application: custom fit for your vehicle

This kit allows your RV's monitoring system to alert you whenever the brake pedal of your towed car is being applied. Other systems operate according to whether the air cylinder is extended and provide no indication of what is happening with the pedal itself. If your supplemental braking system is improperly installed, it may be continuously pressing on the pedal, impeding it from fully retracting and possibly causing damage to your vehicle's tires and braking system. With Roadmaster's Stop Light Switch Kit, you will always know when the brake is being depressed, and you will avoid costly damage.

Had an issue with expedited shipping. Once I received the part I contacted etrailer and it was resolved within a couple minutes.

by:

Some pieces from this kit were needed for installing a brake Controller in a 2016 Sprinter, without the tow package. It works and the van doesn't flag any errors or codes. I talked to a helpful etrailer rep before buying to confirm my application and that personalized service was much appreciated.

by:

Ordered parts for installing a brake controller.
The videos that are part of the web site were a great help in selecting all the needed parts, detailed down to the part numbers that were needed.
I really like the fact that there is a video showing the brake controller installation with my specific vehicle.
Great service !

by:

Installed in 2016 Ford Edge Titanium. Had to buy additional cable connectors that were not included in the kit and instructions did not specify they were required. I would have given 5 stars if it was at least mentioned in the instructions.

by:

This is a great device. The reason I bough it from ETrailer is because of customer service. They are super helpful.

Place the brake as suggested and try it out. Works just as expected.

by:

It fit perfect in my 2022 Lincoln Nautilus! And the instructions were excellent and well done! Thank you folks !!

  • Parts Needed For Installing Trailer Hitch Receiver & Wiring For Brake Controller 2022 Sprinter 2500
Since your 2022 Mercedes-Benz Sprinter 2500 did not come with the factory tow package you may not have a connector for the brake controller under the seat or under your dash. I have linked an installation video for the Redarc # RED44FR at the bottom of the page which will show you where the connector is and if you can wire it in using the Pigtail # 3063-P and Adapter # 331-TPH-017. As I see you were looking at the Prodigy P3 # 90195 it would only require the Pigtail # 3063-P which is long...

  • Will the Hopkins Custom Tail Light Wiring Kit for Towed Vehicles Work on a 2015 Ford Edge SEL
I do have an option but the Hopkins Custom Tail Light Wiring Kit part # HM56011 will only fit the 2015 Ford Edge Sport/Titanium, not the 2015 Ford Edge SEL. The 2015 Ford Edge SEL has variable voltage taillights which is where the issue lies. Therefore, you will need to use the Roadmaster Wiring Kit part # RO44FR which requires splicing. There are no plug and play flat-tow wiring harnesses for a 2015 Ford Edge SEL unfortunately. I have attached some other parts you might need as well below. Roadmaster...

  • Recommended Electric Trailer Brake Controller for a 2016 Mercedes-Benz Sprinter with Tow Package
It sounds like you're looking for an electric brake controller for your 2016 Mercedes-Benz Sprinter. There isn't a confirmed plug and play wiring adapter for your van. If you have a connector under the dash send me a picture of it and I'll see if we have something that will work for you. Since you have the tow package with a 7-way trailer connector you'll just need the wiring kit # 5506. You'll also need a brake pedal switch # RM-751475 because of the wiring system of the van. • Recommended Parts to Flat Tow a 2017 Ford Edge Titanium
Yes, disconnecting the battery with a Quick-Disconnect, like the Deka part # DW05312, will be the easy way to go when it comes to disconnecting the battery on your 2017 Ford Edge so it can be flat towed. Disconnecting the battery prevents it from draining while you are flat towing. Since the owner's manual states that the battery must be disconnected I strongly recommend following those instructions and not trying to get by it somehow. That is one of the down sides to flat towing with...

  • Can The Tekonsha Prodigy P3 Brake Controller Be Installed On A 2017 Mercedes-Benz Sprinter 3500?
This is actually an issue with the Mercedes-Benz Sprinter 3500 in the 2017 model year if it was not equipped with the factory tow package. Due to the vehicle's wiring system, as you mentioned, you will need the stop light switch kit # RM-751475 to bypass the factory switch. Typically modification of the included bracket will be necessary for installation, but this is pretty easy to do. Once this is installed, you will have absolutely no problem using your Tekonsha Prodigy P3 # 90195.

There are some wires that are hot all of the time which is why we usually try to emphasize that the brake controller, like the Prodigy P3 # 90195, needs to be connected to the cold side of the stop light switch when installing the Kit # ETBC7. Sometimes a vehicle will not have a wire connected to the cold side of the stop light switch which is what you are finding. In that case you will simply need to install the Roadmaster Stop Light Switch Kit # RM-751475. This is typically used for...

For your Siesta RV that uses the 2017 Mercedes-Benz Sprinter 3500, I recommend installing the Tekonsha Prodigy P3 Trailer Brake Controller # 90195. This is an excellent proportional controller that will activate your trailer's brakes at the same time and with the same intensity that you apply to them in your RV.
