Installation
This custom-fit T-connector plugs into your vehicle's wiring harness, which is located behind the driver's-side and passenger's-side tail lights. You may have to remove the tail light assemblies or interior trim panels to access this harness.
Once installation is complete, the 4-way connector will be stowed in an out-of-the-way location within your cargo area.
It is recommended that you use a small amount of grease on all electrical connections - the plugs on your automobile and the 4-pole connector itself - to help prevent corrosion.

Today we're going to be taking a look at the Curt T-connector vehicle wiring harness with the 4 pole flat trailer connector. This product fits certain years and models of the Chevrolet HHR, Chevrolet Cobalt, Pontiac G5, Pontiac Pursuit, and Pontiac Pursuit G5. Now, to double check or make sure this is a fit for your vehicle, you can use the vehicle fit guide located at E-trailer.com. This is going to provide a 4 way flat connector at the back of your vehicle to power your trailer's signal lights. It it compatible with 5 pole, 6 pole and 7 pole adapters. Adapters are sold separately.
It's going to come with a dust cap for the 4 way flat plug, that way you can cover up the connection points when it's not being used. This is designed to connect quickly and easily. You don't have to worry about cutting or splicing any wires. Just locate the connection points behind the tail lights. You're going to have plenty of wiring to make your connections. These are going to be custom fit connection points, so they're going to match up perfectly with the ports on the vehicle.
The connector with the green wire goes to the passenger side. The connector with the yellow wire goes to the driver's side. Once you have those located, and once you have those plugged in, you'll need to make a good ground connection. That's your white wire with the ring terminal attached to it. Inside the packet that comes with the kit is going to be a grounding screw so you can easily get that mounted. Then you'll need to secure any excess wires with the included cable ties, so if you have any slack or excess, you can secure those up and out of the way, keeping them safe.
Once your installation is complete, the 4 way connector is going to be stowed in an out of the way location within your cargo area. It is recommended that you use a small amount of dielectric grease on all your electrical connections, like the plugs on the vehicle and the 4 pole connector itself to help prevent corrosion. That grease is sold separately, so if you need some, you can find it right here at Etrailer.com. The kit also comes with detailed installation instructions to help walk you through the entire process step by step. This particular wire harness has stood up very well. It's bent 180° around a piece of interior molding when not in use. When in use it's hanging out the rear hatch in the dust and gravel. Nothing seems to damage this harness. Great materials.

wiring harness for my HHR SS plugged right in no issues. I watched the video pryer to the installation witch made it a breeze.Now When I tow my little trailer my lights work perfect.
One year after installing and I'm still happy with this product, it has never failed. It tucks nicely under the rear cargo compartment when not in use, and I'm pulled it out a number of times for hauling trailers. I very much like this electrical connector.

had to make a small modification to the hitch to make it fit the body holes. after it was installed I ripped the plastic cover that was removed for the installation at the bend and cut off 1 inch on the right corner. After bending the mounting hole tabs toward the front of the car the bottom half of the cover slid up behind the hitch giving it a finished look. Installation looks factory if I do say so myself.
Love it, no cutting no splicing. easy straight forward setup. Saves you from lots of aggravation.

works great no problems
2011 Chevy HHR. This wiring kit installed in less than 5 minutes. It works as it should and all connections are inside the vehicle so no worries of corrosion. The ground wire matches up perfectly with the cars ground stud so no drilling required. The only tool needed was a 10 mm socket for the ground wire. Everything else snaps into place.
I was looking for a trail hitch setup for my hhr for awhile when I found them. It was easy to find everything in one place. It all arrived within a few days, and they kept me update with every step.
Very well built and received it quickly. It arrived via UPS. The gorilla's at UPS made sure the box it was in was in shambles. Fortunately, all the small parts were taped to the hitch so nothing was lost.
I'm an older person who remembers cutting wires to hook up trailers.It was very easy using your products.I wired up two different cars in less than 45mins. and probably rested half of that.
It works great. Protection would be nice when being crushed by the trunk. Should recommend to tape the trailer connection for people who wouldn't know better
