If you're looking for the most secure way to lock your bike to your rack or anywhere else, the Trimax Thex Super Chain is gonna be the heaviest-duty lock for your bike. And I say, lock, it's just gonna be the chain but I am going to pair it up with the Trimax combination lock. I just like the combos and the way this is gonna work is you're gonna have one link right here which is where it's gonna go through, these chains aren't gonna go through any of the other little links on there. So it's only gonna be for this. Notice the shape of our links. They're hexagonally shaped, and it is gonna be made of a hardened steel, but all this is triple heat treated.
So what that's gonna do is gonna give us six tons of pull strength but also it's gonna give us 11 tons of cutting strength. This is gonna be the toughest chain of all the ones we carry here to secure your bike. I do like how they give you a sleeve that goes over top of it. It's the same material as your ratchet straps, it's a nylon fabric. So this is just gonna prevent it from making scratches on our bike or our bike rack.
It's also gonna kind of keep the noise to a minimum. Some of you we're wondering if it's gonna be long enough to go around a thicker pole like this. I would say it's a little bit smaller than a telephone pole and it works pretty good. We still have plenty of length right here to be able to lock this thing up. And another big question that you guys we're asking is, "How heavy is it and how easy is it gonna be to transport with" I would suggest putting this in a backpack.
I really don't think there's gonna be a great place to kind of put it on your bike. It is about eight pounds, so it is a little heavy, but I guess what you could do, if you really needed to, you could take it, maybe just wrap it around your frame a little bit. Since it does have the nylon protective sleeve over it it shouldn't really damage it a whole lot but this isn't really ideal. One, it's gonna make your bike a little bit heavier but that's kind of just something you have to deal with. But I guess you could maybe wrap it around here a couple of times and then link it together.
So that's something you could do, but you're gonna see a little bit of rattling. I don't really think this is the best way to do it but it's definitely possible. It's not really gonna interfere a whole lot with your riding, but it might be a little annoying if you don't get it tight, like I don't have it right here. So that's something to kind of think about. It's probably a backpack item, 'cause riding around with this might get a little loud and obnoxious. But really, it's not really affecting my ride at all. And it's actually a lot quieter than I thought, it's not really moving around a whole lot. So I think maybe using it like this to transport around is a good way to do it. That's pretty much it for a look at the Trimax Thex Super Chain..
