When you apply the brakes in your tow vehicle, deceleration occurs and momentum pushes your trailer toward the rear of your vehicle. With surge brake systems, the actuator is triggered as your trailer moves forward while the tow vehicle slows. The actuator telescopes, applying force to its master cylinder, which in turn supplies the necessary hydraulic pressure to engage the trailer's brakes.
Because this model does not include a reverse lockout, it is recommended that you equip your trailer with free-backing brakes so that you can drive in reverse without triggering your trailer's brakes.

Today were going to review part number T4831800. This is the Titan Painted Brake Actuator with the Lunette Ring Coupler with a 20,000 lb weight capacity. This is a bolt on style surge type actuator which will synchronize your trailer brakes with your tow vehicle brakes. It is a unique roller design. Right here there are two rollers up here, two down here. They each have three inaudible 0:00:24 fitting on each end so they can be lubricated with grease.
This unique roller design will help reduce resistance when this Lunette ring coupler will telescope in and out of the actuator. The reduction resistance will help create straight line movement. It is made of a sturdy durable steel construction which will resist bending in any jackknife situation. This integrated Lunette ring is for use with the pintle hook hitches. A brake away hit right here at the top is included.
It comes with the chain here with the hook on the end that is made to hook onto the tow vehicle. This is a prime finish on the part and it is a bolt-on installation. If you look on the bottom here you can see the mounting hole and you can see the channel here. This is designed to fit onto a 3-inch wide channel tongue on the trailer. Now this weight capacity is 20,000 lbs.
The maximum tongue weight capacity is 2,000 lbs. It does have a one year limited warranty and this is designed for hydraulic drum brakes only. If turn this around you can probably see here on the back, you can see the master stone right here and right down here is the connection. You just pull out this plug and theres the brass connection that you would hook your hydraulic brake line into.
