Hi, I'm Matt with etrailer, and today I'm gonna be talking about the replacement mounting bolts for the Yakima SkinnyWarrior, MegaWarrior or LoadWarrior. I'll be showing you how to replace them on the SkinnyWarrior today. So let's take a closer look at that. To replace 'em, it's pretty straightforward. All you have to do is grab the bolt and take off these knobs off the top, just by twisting 'em off. Once it's completely removed, that bolt's gonna drop out from the bottom.
As you can see, we have our flat top one. I'm just gonna repeat that same process on the other side, removing our T bolt. Now this set is gonna come four of each one of these bolts. So you're gonna be able to replace each one of the mounting bolts of each one of your clamps. Now if you wanna keep some on hand, just in case you lose any of your other bolts, you can do that.
Or if all your bolts are looking kind of rusty, then you can just replace all of them. Now when you're replacing your bolts, you wanna make sure you match up the holes. So we wanna make sure this flat top one is in this groove that's not a longer hole, while our T bolt one is gonna be fitting through here completely like this, so it can lock into place. Once you've done that, you can run these two bolts through the bottom of this clamp, making sure it goes through both holes and with both of them in place, you can grab your knobs and screw 'em in from the top. You don't have to screw it in all the way.
You can just get it started. And once it's started on both sides, you can let this drop and then tighten as you see fit. And that's all there is to it. This T bolt turns out to be the achilles heel of the Yakima Space Cadet. The help I got in finding this on line from trailer was spot on. The T bolt fits well and I have some extras. Many thanks!
I used this hardware for mounting an older Yakima cargo box to 1-1/2" x 1-1/2" cross bars on a ladder rack. The threads are 1/4"-20 and 3" long. These appear to be stainless steel too...but not 100% sure. Worked great for my application.
I mean these are just bolts, so how hard can this be, but given that they are the correct size and have been used for one year now... they are actually holding up better than the stock Yakima hardware (no surface rust).
Moreover, the customer service at etrailer has been great. Questions answered very timely and they follow up with my experience with them. I will definitely do business with etrailer again!
The item was shipped to me very quickly and it was priced reasonably. They work well with my Load Warrior Cargo basket brackets. They are slightly longer than the black mounting bolts that came with my cargo basket, but they still work fine. They also fit my locking brackets well.
Decided to renovate my aging Yakima Rocketbox and replaced all the mounting bolts with these. A bit longer than the originals, but not a problem at all. Works much better now. Etrailer staff (Renee) was awesome when I called to make sure these would work. They even double checked by contacting Yakima while I was on hold.
I wanted to replace the 8 bolts on my old Yakima Rocketbox (probably 10 yrs old) which connect it to the round bars. This item is not *exactly* the same as the original bolts, but the threads match and the pieces all work fine. The old bolts are not in horrible condition, but if one were to break, it could be disastrous, so this is a great upgrade.
Needed slightly longer bolts to accommodate my ancient Yakima rocket box for mounting on some new HD bars which are thicker than the original round bars. These bolts are ~3/4" longer and worked perfectly.
These Yakima replacement bolts were just what I needed to make my Rocket Box useable again. Shipping was quick and the entire process was simple from beginning to end.
Installed easily to replace the older (bent) Yakima bolts, and a year later they are holding up well.
Great replacement bolts. Longer length than original makes box much easier to install.

same metric size threads & bolt diameter. ??
