Video Transcript for Titan Chain Heavy Truck Snow Tire Chains Repair Pliers Review

Hey guys. Jake here at etrailer. Today we're going to be taking a look at and I'm going to show you how to use the Titan Chain Repair Pliers for snow tire chains. These are going to come in two different sizes. Here we have it a little bit longer set, if you need a little bit more leverage, but they're going to have the same heads on them. Today we'll be showing you how to use the smaller set, but they're going to work exactly the same. Here you can see we have a section of our chain missing, it should be right in here.

We're going to go ahead and show you how to replace a broken chain if that we're to happen to you on the road. We're going to take our replacement link, slide it into the appropriate link on the side, do this for both sides. Before you crimp down on your end, do you want to make sure your chain is facing in the right direction. The easiest way to tell that is look at your other links and match it to that. Now what we are going to do is we're going to use the ground to help us make the level base, put it inside your pliers and pinch down.

Now we can see that it pinched down on our hooks here, making it safe and secure, and that change is not going to come off.Now we can go ahead and repeat this process for the other link. Now it's going to be just as easy for us to remove the old links when needing to replace a link in the middle of our chain. So we'll take these teeth here and we're going to slide them underneath the two teeth that are holding our chain in place and you're going to pry up, and this is going to separate these two prongs to be able to remove it from our chain. When removing a section of your chain, you want to repeat that same process for the other side. You'll notice it has these grooves integrated in the pliers so that you can set the chain down in those grooves so it doesn't slide from side to side inside the pliers.

You're also going to have a loop here that's going to help you crimp down on chain links up to a half inch in diameter.Overall, it's going to give you that peace of mind that you're going to be able to fix any links in your chain whenever you need to. It's going to be a lot easier to use since it's been designed for these chains, rather than just a regular set of pliers. So that's one thing I like about it is that it's going to make replacing these a lot easier. With that being said, that's gonna do it for a look at the Titan Chain Snow Tire Chain Pliers.

After a mishap with USPS losing half my chain set, etrailer customer service quickly sent out a replacement with UPS, that standard in quality shipping. The chains themselves seem nice, albeit a bit difficult to install but I’ve never mounted dually chains before and perhaps it’s my fault. My duals seem awfully close together and the middle chain section comes up short. The correct size was purchased so I don’t know what’s going on. Added a few links and it’s secured. -Star for the shipping debacle that wasn’t really etrailers fault. That’s really on USPS.

These are heavy duty pliers, not the cheaper stamped metal ones. I have Norseman chains. They are very heavy duty. They are built like log skidder chains. These will work fine on them.(or your skidder)

I purchased this tool for several reasons. I wanted a tool to repair and maintain my 2 sets of v-bar chains used in severe snow and ice conditions with my 4 wheel drive truck. The second and third reason is that it will enable me to open and close "S" hooks that at my age is getting very difficult to do.
My only suggestion is to use a stronger gauge cardboard to ship this product. Thanks for your fast service.
