Michael: Hi there. I'm Michael with etrailer.com. Today, we're going to take a quick look at the Thule Replacement M5 x 16 screw. This is going to replace the M5 x 16 millimeter screw for your Thule roof mounted rail top track system. Whether that be the 42 inch or the 54 inch, it will work for either one. Now this is the 16 millimeter screw to hold down your tracks to your roof.
There is a separate M5 screw that originally came with your kit that is 25 millimeters, that's used for installing the flare nut. So make sure that you're getting the right screw for you.This is the 16 millimeter. So it is right about 5/16 of an inch long. So this is going to be the piece that will hold your top track down to your vehicle's roof, so make sure that you are getting the correct one. That other screw, the M5 x 25 can be found here at etrailer.com as well.
