Video Transcript for Rhino-Rack Pioneer Platform Rack Gas Can Holder Review

What's up everybody, it's AJ with etrailer.com. Today we gonna be checking out this jerry can-holder from Rhino-Rack. Now it's gonna slide into the T-Tracks of your Rhino-Rack here, or we got our Pioneer Rack. So, there's a little block that goes into the groove and slides in just like all your other accessories. And it's a designated spot to hold your jerry can. So you can strap down, comes with the ratchet strap as well.

So you can run that through, it's real tight. It's not going anywhere, I can shake the whole camper back and forth with this jerry can holder, and then shaking the jerry can, you see, it doesn't move a whole lot either. It's gonna be made out of a black powder coat steel. So I don't have to worry about it rusting and corroding up here on the Pioneer Rack if you leave it up here all the time. Let's check it out.

The included ratch straps works really well, too. Really easy to operate, open up just like a standard ratchet strap. It's got a rubberized handle here. So even if it's cold outside, you can still use that and you'll be able to get a grip on it to tighten it up. Has a loop based system here.

So it's gonna wrap around, and the strap is gonna run through itself, and attaches to the Pioneer Rack down here. So, it's really tight. It's not gonna go anywhere, it's not gonna slip off. This is also made to hold a five gallon jerry can. So that's what we have in here.

So that's exactly what's supposed to be used for. It's really easy to install too. It took me no time to do it, check out how we did it. And we're gonna put our jerry cane holder into place. Now you might have a different setup for your platform rack that might have to have brackets using these two holes here, you would install those. We don't need those today in our application. We're just gonna use the T-Track right here on top. So I'm putting that block in that gap right there, and sliding it on. So that was the first one, and you come here to the second one, and then put it where we want. So I think that could be good right there. We could also bring it back here as well, it'll take up less space from the center, and then just come back here with our ratchet and tighten it down. Hardware's really simple. You've just got the bolt here, a lock, washer and then a regular washer there underneath it. Then the block goes down through that groove like you saw in the T-Track, and that's what keeps it nice and tight. You see, now like that's tightened down. I can shake the whole thing back and forth. This is moving just a little bit right here, but it's not gonna rattle or move here at the base. Now we're ready to add our jerry can. I'm just gonna set it on the end right there, right into place. Now when it comes to strapping down our jerry can into place, you got this included ratchet straps, you got a loop on one end, on this one with the ratchet mechanism, same things on the other side of the jerry can right now, we're gonna just wrap this around the bar, right here. And what we're gonna do, try to run it through itself. So now that loop is attached to that bar, so it's not going away, see how tight that is. The mechanism is facing outward. We can run this strap, we did the same thing on the other side, ran up, underneath the handles. So this is gonna pull down on it. So I'm gonna put this and feed it through our ratchet strap, or through our ratchet mechanism, sorry. Right through the center, pull it through, get it tight, and then we start tying it down. You can see it's in there real tight, it's not going anywhere. Overall, I think it works really well. It was really easy to install. Just put it in a T-Tracks, and then run the ratchet straps. I'm impressed of how tight it is holding it. I can shake it, the whole camper back and forth, just by the jerry can here, so you know it's not going anywhere. I like that it has a specific spot to live now. So when you're going traveling, you don't have to find a spot to carry the gas can. You just put it right up here, this is where it stays, it's outside of your camper. That way there's no fumes on the inside or anything. And, you can know that it's secure and not going anywhere. Well, I think that does it. Thanks for hanging out, and I hope this helps..

Works very well and is secure. Your cans will get the paint rubbed off in spots. I have added padding on the holder to keep the ratchet from rubbing and banging on the side of the holder. These are worth it.
